Hemlock Point Campground

1 site · RV, Tent56 acres · Madoc, ON
This is an off grid campsite with a plowed gravel driveway, flush-toilet outhouse, covered gazebo, BBQ (with propane), ice fishing gear, books toys and games, chairs, firepits, etc. Atvs are welcome on the road, and this is a great access point for many trails and lakes in the vicinity. There is ample level ground on site for tents, and reasonably sized RV's. The campsite is a set on a large pond fed by the Black River, and is great for kayaking/canoeing. Campers are welcome to hike the marked waterfront trail or others within the 56 acre property, just down the road is the Black river bridge and put in for the designated paddling . This is a unique landscape, nestled between Mt. Moriah , the Elzevir pluton complex and the Black River in an ultramafic zone, with coloured quartz veins and pillowed granite outcroppings. Various lakes and trails are accessible by human power or with off road vehicles. Cell phone signal is limited, my home is equipped with a booster available for emergencies 24/7.

Red Cedar Plains

6 sites · RVs, Tents110 acres · Prince Edward, ON
The 110-acre estate has been overtaken with Red Cedars at the front of the property, and also has a mature forest at the rear of the property. It has become a sort of refuge for wildlife. Deer, bunnies, and even Coyotes roam freely on what has over the past 20 or 30 years become a young forest. This is a place of quiet reflection. however, it is also a great place to reunite with loved ones over exciting conversations, music, and drinks over the flame of a campfire. However, we exercise a quiet hours policy starting at 11pm. No loud music or loud talking. We are in close proximity to the first and most prominent vineyard in PEC. (Wauppos Estates). They have some of the best wine you will find here, and spectacular gardens on the lake with a south-facing dock. Grab a glass of wine and wander the grounds. They also have a petting zoo, ice cream, and a market where you can grab food, drinks, or some fresh local produce. Nearby there are blueberry and strawberry fields where you can pick your own fruit. Right around the corner from us we have our favourite wine maker at Amanda’s Winery.

The Ridge Retreat

1 site · RV, Tent6 acres · Kingston, ON
The Ridge Retreat is 6 acres of beauty topped off with amazing waterfront and an awesome new dock. A gravel road has been prepared from the road access right down to the lake. We recommend that you park on the upper portion of this driveway/road and walk or use an ATV to travel on the trail to the lake. As mentioned, there is about a 40 ft incline just as you approach the clearing down by the lake . Please wear running/walking shoes and descend slowly down either of the 2 trails provided. The trail "Easy Street" is definitely an easier descent and climb. Learn more about this land: Situated just off the main road, The Ridge Retreat offers you the privacy and beauty of 6 unspoiled acres. Follow the gravel walkway/road down (5 min walk) to your amazing private dock situated on Howes Lake, Verona Ontario. Deep, clean water for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc.  There are 2 firepits should you decide to have a campfire - one at the road site (RV and trailer) and one at the waters edge.  This property provides privacy and solitude for nature lovers. The designated RV parking spot is up near the main road along with a very nice outhouse but if you decide to tent camp, there are a few choices that would bring you closer to the water's edge.  An additional outhouse is located at the top of the incline to the lake.  The gravel/asphalt trail down by the lake is the steeper of the 2 trails. Choose the "Easy Street" trail off to your right after you pass the stop sign indicating that no vehicles should drive beyond. This trail is a bit longer but a much more gradual incline. Grocery shopping, nature trails, etc are just a few minutes away. The scenic town of Westport is a 30 min drive away with amazing shops and a local winery.
