Knotty Pines Island Getaway offers a unique camping experience that’s perfect for families, couples and singles to enjoy. Located on Coburn Island, Harvey Lake, it is 2 km from where you can put your water craft on the water. This 1.5 acre property is about as secluded as you can get on this lake and can give the illusion of having the whole place to yourself.
Surrounded on all sides by water, you don’t have to worry about your pets running off or any predators lurking around. There is a bald eagle living there but I’ve never seen it land on the island. The ground cover is made up of dead evergreen needles and twigs of various sizes - there is no grass - so bring appropriate footwear. I wear sandals and get the occasional twig between the toes but not often enough to make me stop wearing them. I also recommend water shoes when swimming, as there are some sharp rocks just near the shore where we normally swim (I’ll have a path made this summer to prevent this issue). There are plenty of spaces to pitch tents and large trees for hammocks. Once you are settled, you have the lake to swim in and explore, or an island to relax on.
A map with notable spots will be provided.
There is a trail from one end of the island to the other making it easier to explore. Up in the tallest tree you will see a bald eagle’s nest which has been occupied for no less then 20 years. If you are there in the spring you can hear the eagle's chicks. Exploring the island you can expect to see an old loon’s nest, usually with the egg shells still present, and bones of various creatures that the eagle has eaten. You can also expect to see frogs, turtles, squirrels, various birds, ducks and loons. If you don’t happen to see a loon you will definitely hear them as the sun goes down. You will also hear the train which goes by a few times throughout the day.
Pets are welcome and can roam free, but please scoop their poop.

Cool off in the summer at Belyea’s Cove or Crafts Cove, just a 10-minute drive away — both ideal for swimming and boat launching. Albright Brook runs right through the property, offering hidden sit-spots to relax, meditate, or cast a line for trout in season.
Within five minutes you’ll find two waterfalls worth exploring, and just 15 minutes away, the fully stocked country store in Cambridge-Narrows has beer, wine, and spirits for your evening by the campfire. Super quick & easy booking and stay! The trailer is absolutely adorable and was perfect for me, my husband, and my one-year old (we brought our own pack'n'play crib which fit right near the bench in the camper). The outdoor fairy lights were adorable at night, the campfire pit is a good size, and there were even deer feeding on the apples in the morning! Even though it was close to the highway, and right outside a few residences, it's still quite private. Thank you for the accomodations!

Good place to rest your head for the evening if road tripping. However definitely not suited for tent camping as the ground is very uneven and rocky. Relatively private and good tree coverage. They do have a table and a tarp which can come in handy!

Stayed 2 nights with our off grid camper. So peaceful and quiet. We even had a surprise visit from a hummingbird. It was beautiful. It is a great place for stargazing.

A truly hidden gem! We were received well and the warmth from Paul and Sue was perfect for our couple's roadtrip. We will definitely return there if we ever go back to New-Brunswick. The view was stunning in the evening and in the morning. Only the sound of nature can be enjoy to make you relax after a long day of driving. A must stay if you are in the area!

Perfect forest getaway! The cabin was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. The spa was super relaxing and brought you closer to nature. The site was close to many spots to visit in NB.

Great place to park my truck for a couple of nights. Protected, shady, quiet, and peaceful. They had a table and a tarp there if I had needed them, which was a nice touch.
It was super dry, so didn't have too many bugs (I could see them being pretty bad if it was wet out). Didn't need to set up a tarp or anything, but plenty of trees to do so if you need to. Also great places for hammocks!
It's perfect if you are staying in a hammock, small camper, or vehicle. I'm not sure where I would have found a non rocky/rooty/rutty place to set up a tent if that's where I had been sleeping, so keep that in mind if you are tenting it. It was great for the set-up I have!
The neighbors house felt a little close, but where and how I parked still felt very private with the angle of my vehicle and the trees. I think I was just more surprised than anything as I didn't notice it in the pictures.
Great spot for a few nights!

We had a wonderful time tenting here! The owners are very friendly and easy going. The property is gorgeous and my twins had a blast playing in the brook all day. It was our first time tenting as a family and I can confidently say we couldn’t have picked a better spot! If you’re thinking about booking, you won’t be disappointed! 10/10 would recommend and hope to come back again sometime in the near future!

I loved tent camping on Paul’s land! I ended up staying in another site than I originally had booked (and was able to pick the one that had the most privacy by the stream. The hammock and lounger by the water was a nice touch. They even helped me put up my tent even (I had never set it up without my husband ha ha). I loved just exploring the land surrounding the farm and the bunnies were adorable! The stars and fireflies at night were so beautiful. Since this was my first Hipcamp stay I am so thankful I had such great hosts! Thanks again for the memories!

We only stayed one night on Braydon’s land but it was very charming and Braydon was very knowledgeable regarding off grid living/ homesteading. There were nice little spots nestled in the trees all over his land to camp and despite its more remote location it was a very fun spot to spend the night. We would definitely consider returning if we were passing through again.

If you love true camping, disconnecting and connecting with nature and/or if you are interested in homesteading this is the place for you! We loved our spot, which was very private, the place is absolutely beautiful with lots of trails and the owners are very welcoming and knowledgeable. And the best part all the animals! We will definitely be back, thanks for letting us in on a glimpse of your homestead and letting us pick your brains!
