When to Go
Sugarloaf Campground is seasonal and tends to open from early June to early October, based on snowpack. For info on the current season’s exact operating dates and road conditions, call the Arapaho National Forest ranger station at (970) 295-6600. At 8,970 feet in elevation, the campground experiences mild temperatures even in summer, with cool nights and the potential for rain showers and thunderstorms.
