Description

Buck Meadow Campground in the Sierra National Forest offers sandy meadow camping at the confluence of Snow Corral and Deer Creeks. Fish for some trout, cook a meal over an open fire, and ponder the light of western stars with the help of some tasty libations. When you’re this far out you can pretty much camp how you want to.

Great quiet little spot to dig the mountains and maybe some peace and quiet. No water to drink. Serious stream in spring, ok into summer but flows just barely into Fall. Spring stream must be outrageous as the evidence of lots of moving rocks and water down this stream implies intense water but it’s to small to raft or tube.

Great area geologically as lots of exposed granite, in fact right across the stream upstream from camp is an awesome granite dome ready to explore.

Usually no one there midweek, but can be busy weekends inc summer. Good place to set up camp for day outings and a nice camp to come back to at days end.
