Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our little rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or grab a soak in our outdoor bath with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere. Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. Sites are allocated on weekends based on numbers and if you are camping with children and dogs. We have 10 large flat grassy sites nestled amongst trees. Campsites are far enough away from other campers to enjoy the privacy. Each site is large and can allow group bookings. Loads of space for tents, camper trailers, caravans or motorhomes. Pets permitted but must be restrained. We have 22 acres of natural bushland in the Conondale Valley, between Maleny and Kenilworth; in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Less than an hour to Caloundra and Sunshine Coast beaches. Sites allocated on weekend, public and school holidays. We have endangered wildlife on the property including frogs in the creek. We are very passionate about protecting the habitat, so our property only suits eco-friendly campers who follow leave no trace principles. Sites are allocated by owner based on your group numbers, children, dogs and camp set up. A confirmation will be sent to you 24 hours before arrival with a site number and arrival instructions. Frequently Asked Questions - Firewood (hardwood) $20 per bag - Wifi access is available for $10 per person. - Plenty of secluded spots, we only take limited bookings. All within 1 minute walk of the creek. - Campfires permitted upon consultation with the host. - Campers must be self-sufficient. We would prefer it if you have your own toilet and shower. This is not a dig a hole and bury facility. We have a back up toilet for you just in case. - Rubbish to be removed and disposed off site. Bins at corner of Kennedy and Aherns Rds are NOT to be used. These bins are solely for residents in the area. - Dogs permitted. Must be on leash at all times. - Please respect other campers comforts.

Beautiful spot and very secluded at our site. Such a fun place for kids and dogs to play in the creek. Would go back in a heartbeat (without rain and mud next time). Definitely recommend taking your own toilet unless you are close to the area down from the shed.

Camping with our dogs.
We loved our stay. Such a beautiful spot to camp. Dog friendly, lush grass and the creek was relaxing. We appreciated they let us stay a few more days at short notice.

CAMPING HERE IS 5 STARS⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My camping trip at A place to call home was nothing but awesome! The camp-site we set up at was #1 and was right next to the running lake. Each site had seats, swings and camp fire spots, heaps of space for privacy and as mentioned before; the running lake was great too. Would 100% recommend! Thanks Thea and Gaz!

Life is naturally better outside …
Thank you Thea and Garry for opening up your home for us all to experience the natural beauty of a ‘Place to Call Home’. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the creek, walking through the rainforest, the open spaces, camp oven cooking and the constant bird song. Your directions and communication prior to our arrival made our trip to a ‘Place to Call Home’ seamless. More importantly, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you both a little more around our campfire. We will be back and we are looking forward to returning. Many thanks Nic and Jay 😊

Lovely
Everything one expects from a Hipcamp but often doesn't get. A genuinely friendly welcome, a well maintained site and the ability to have a contained open fire with wood available for sale. The toilets were suitably rustic but clean and well maintained. This says nothing about the perfect creekside location. A wonderful albeit short stay, we will be back.
