Hemlock Point Campground is set on a private waterway fed by the Black River, nestled among forests and rocky ridges. Internet is limited (cell signal is okay) but the wildlife (some rare) is abundant. Each campsite is spacious and well equipped, with a private driveway, toilet, bbq/Coleman, screenhouse and more. As well as using the canoe and/or kayak provided, campers are also welcome to hike the marked and groomed waterfront trail (over 2 km) or others within the 56 acre property, just down the road is the yellow bridge over the Black River where a decent swimming hole can be found (Look for the groomed trail on the right just after the yellow bridge and follow it to the rapids). ATV's are permitted on the road, (gateway to trails to Lingham, Deer Rock, Caniff, and Skootamatta Lakes, and more) and friendly dogs are welcome off leash. This is a unique gelogical landscape, situated between Mt. Moriah, the Elzevir pluton complex and the Black River in an ultramafic zone, with coloured quartz veins and pillowed granite outcroppings. Mixed forest with varied species of deciduous and conifer trees - due to aerial seeding after a forest fire over 80 years ago, leaving charred stumps that can still be found from natural char preservation. Home to pileated woodpeckers, hawks, eagles and kingfishers, otters, fishers, salamanders, brown river trout and everything in between, either from the vantage of a hammock or on a hike in the forest this natural site won't disappoint.

170 acre property consisting of  1.5 km stretching along a river with water falls at the fare East end of the property. The rest of the property is of mixed bush forest and small meadow to the South end that can accommodate a RV.The property offers a pristine natural environment abundant with wild life, bird watching and plenty of excellent swimming and fishing spots.There is only one easily assessable  RV spot available on the land for booking, this is a small clearing by the entrance area that can abominate up to a few RVs from one group exclusively, or be booked for a single RV to use exclusively.Accessing the remainder of the land is by way of a bush road that will require walking in approximately 1 km or by way of a 4 by 4 vehicle or ATV to access the waters edge. The K and P mixed use trail runs adjacent to the property and allows travel to Calabogie to the North or Sharbot lake and further South to Kingston by way of ATV right from the edge of the property.Sharbot lake is a short 15-minute drive from the property and offers all the amenity of a small town including a magnificent public beach that is ideal for small children.

Jacks Cabin was a perfect cozy cottage in the woods. Beautiful property and plenty of classic board games to play by fire light. The wood stove kept up very warm throughout the night. The only con is the outhouse has a window but no curtain. Its a small critique but worth mentioning. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone looking to get away for a quiet weekend check out this property.

This is the second time we stayed at Black Maple Farm, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The site is clean, well-organized, and very pleasant, and our toddler absolutely loved helping feed and care for the animals. The hosts are warm, helpful, and lovely to chat with. We really enjoyed the campsite and the overall park was great. From the trails to the dog park, fishing dock, beach area, and clean amenities, the park was well maintained and easy to get around. The host, Monica is fabulous! She is incredibly welcoming and very guest focused - we loved our trip so much that we are likely getting a seasonal site to enjoy the park all season long! The park is very dog friendly, which was a bonus for us and our furry family member. Highly recommend the park for its super homey atmosphere and hidden gems when you're out for an adventure!

Monica is fantastic host. The campsite is clean. The yellow chalet is cute. Each cottage houses have there own personalities. They have the stuff you need for cooking and fire pit. Access to the water is good. Good for swimming boating and fishing. The hiking trails are marked. Highlly recommended if you like nature away from city noises.

Weekend Trip to Bushwood!
First of all, id like to thank Brian and Jen for welcoming us on to their land. This was a fantasfic experience. Brain ended up meeting us and welcoming us to his area. He then took all of our stuff to site with his side by side. This spot was beautiful, set up extremly well and maintained and very quiet. We had a canoe to use, and although the water is shallow and weedy, a canoe here was a great time. We paddled and explored various islands. Night time the stars we great although the moon was too bright for them to truly shine, we were able to see saturn and its rings using our telescope. On our 4th and final day, brian and i had agreed on a time and he met us, using his side by side once again to cart our stuff back. He even helped us scour the site to make sure we didnt leave anything behind. Overall, it was an acceptional stay and the hospitality and kindness of Brian made it a trip to remember.

We recommend that you park on the upper portion of this driveway/road and walk or use an ATV to travel on the trail to the lake. Deep, clean water for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc.  There are 2 firepits should you decide to have a campfire - one at the road site (RV and trailer) and one at the waters edge.  This property provides privacy and solitude for nature lovers. The designated RV parking spot is up near the main road along with a very nice outhouse but if you decide to tent camp, there are a few choices that would bring you closer to the water's edge.  An additional outhouse is located at the top of the incline to the lake.  The gravel/asphalt trail down by the lake is the steeper of the 2 trails. Choose the "Easy Street" trail off to your right after you pass the stop sign indicating that no vehicles should drive beyond. This trail is a bit longer but a much more gradual incline. Grocery shopping, nature trails, etc are just a few minutes away. The scenic town of Westport is a 30 min drive away with amazing shops and a local winery.

Welcome to Camping with a View! Situated in Myers Cave, Ontario famous for its stargazing opportunities. Your tent site overlooks two lakes, where you can see and hear rapids while enjoying the peaceful sounds of loons and nature by the fire pit. There is a cabin on site however it is not for use, other than for sitting on the wraparound porch for a better view or to get shelter from the sun/rain. Included in the price: - access to the site (2 flat areas for smaller sized tents) - firewood (please keep the fire controlled) - canoe/paddles and two lifejackets for you to use - ability to use the wraparound patio at the cabin to sit and get out of the sun/rain A path down to the water makes it easier for you to get to the canoe (please leave the canoe and paddles as you found it, flipped over). Fishing and swimming are great closer to both sets of rapids. 2 lifejackets are kept in the outhouse if you don't bring your own. Firewood is included so please do not cut trees! There is a pit toilet on-site for your convenience. There is also a small grill that is left by the fire pit for cooking with the fire. Please note it is recommended that you have a 4X4 vehicle in order to access the site (maintain 20-30km/h going up the steep driveway). Take the driveway up two steep inclines and park at the dead end. Things to bring: - tents, sleeping bags - food, water & garbage bag (please leave the site as you found it - CLEAN!) - toilet paper - tarp (if you wish to have extra rain/sun protection) NO DOGS PERMITTED! - unfortunately some renters have brought dogs and didn't pick up after them, so dogs are no longer permitted.

For the last 26 years we have lived here on our 6 acres of property where our Maple Sugar Bush allows us to produce our very own maple syrup every spring. [Side note: The sugar shack itself has been on the property for over 40 years.] We also raise a small but varied collection of farm animals, grow vegetables, and operate a small Market Booth that sells handmade "Canadian Themed" Home Decor goods and Maple Products at the Frontenac Farmer's Market. These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too. We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution. Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog. During your stay with us you are welcome to come learn about and interact with our animals and daily farm life, if you so desire, and farm fresh eggs, maple syrup, local honey, and homemade baked goods, are also available to purchase too.
