With no major bodies of water or historical sites in the park, Nerstrand Big Woods Campground sees fewer visitors than other campgrounds in the area. That’s good news for you—the campground is quiet and almost always has open sites. Take a stroll through the wildflower garden with its rare dwarf trout lily, and you won’t want to miss Hidden Falls, a splendid waterfall surrounded by woodlands.

Do Not camp at the "walk in" sites, unless you do not like peace and quiet. I will never return to the walk in sites here because they're directly across from group sites and it was so loud and obnoxious.

Do not let rain keep you off the trails. Bring your tall hiking boots or rain boots and get out on the trails in the north end of the park. The forest comes alive!
