Tucked away in the tiny beachside town of Whangapoua is our remarkable camping spot. If you're a first-time or frequent visitor to Whangapoua, our camp spot is the perfect place to take in all this beach town has to offer. Whangapalooza is a mere 100 meter walk to Whangapoua beach, and just 600 meters to the access for New Chums Beach, voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Southeast of Whangapoua Beach is Opera Point, a sheltered lagoon that's perfect for sunbathing, boat watching and rope swinging. This spot also has a 1 hour return bush and beach walk that includes a walk to a pa site, an old tramway line, and a window rock.Pitch your tent and take in the peacefulness of Whangapoua while listening to the sound of waves breaking on the shore. The totara trees on the site are home to tuis and wood pigeons; you may even spot some quail families meandering through the campsite. Peacocks can be viewed in neighbouring properties, too. The zipline in the lower part of the site offers hours of amusement for both children and adults alike!
