When we arrived we saw that site 5 wasn’t ideal for our caravan because of the shade of the trees (fully electric caravan so we rely on solar) matts wide called him and they decided to move us onto the big grassy site with full sun and what a view! We really enjoyed the walks with our dogs on the tracks which were marked with very nice signs of all the animal life in the woods. So many beautiful birds. Matt and the kids surprised us with some veggies from their own garden. They were yummy. Matt definitely is a star host! We will definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are going to book another staycation. Matt’s hospitality was amazing. Came to meet and greet with organic vegetables grown from his own vegetable garden. Dogs were given ample exercise space and because the campsites were spread over a distance they didn’t bother any other campers. The morning sunrise was stunning. Thankyou Matt for sharing your piece of paradise.

Fairy condo and furry friends

A lovely place to stay with plenty of space to enjoy. Nice to see well trained pets enjoying the area and having a wonderful run. Our furry friends need their fun too. Very close to the South Western highway, making it easy find. Loved the fairy condo!!

Matt's very proud of his place

Matt is a truly lovely bloke whose aim is to make your stay memorable. He has created a lovely spot for people to stay with a nice walkway through the bush. He involves his children in his dream and they help to water the new plants which is incredible to see. They all came to say hi on our second day armed with plums tomatoes cucumber and sweet corn from their garden as a special gift for us. Hopefully I can post an image of the salad we created. I will most definitely return to this place again in the future as it's nicely tucked away.

Endless discoveries!

We loved our stay at Highway Hideaway. Especially our kids! This place was a beautiful hidden gem full of endless creativity for our kids. There is a beautiful book and game corner, a fairy garden, playground, frogs and tadpoles. Plus, many things to find along the discovery trail. Thank you Matt and family, absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend!

Really helpful and accommodating
26 ft travel trailer · With kids ·
We didn’t end up staying our intended nights as some family matters came up, however, Matt was very responsive and accommodating to help shift our days to a later stage. We were super appreciative of this and am looking forward to when we do make it there. He had mentioned his kids had put special games out for my kids for our initial stay, which felt really personable and sweet. We can’t wait to finally get there as the place looks stunning!! : )
