Magnificent 15 acre block set amongst an abundance of mature native trees with flat camp sites. Set along side the Greenough river and Greenough nature trail. You will enjoy a variety of birds whilst relaxing in one of the six natural bush sites. Each site is private, has its own composting toilet, solar powered led lights and usb port. There is a unique shared bush shower from a tree. Just over the road is the of 17 km nature trail around the very scenic Greenough River. Only 15 minutes from Geraldton and 7 minutes to our treasured surfing and dog beach. Dogs are very welcome but must be on a leash whilst on the property as there is friendly chooks and sheep wandering around.Very secure private sites amongst the gum trees with an abundance of nature. Close to Town, river and beach. Compost toilet, bush shower, rainwater and solar light supplied. Fire pits at every site with free firewood. My story…. I started with a bare paddock back in 1990 and and have been building and creating ever since. Trees and bore water were the first things to establish then along came the first of many rammed earth buildings. I designed and build a large workshop and gallery which housed my furniture making business for twenty years. About 10 years ago I decided to change direction and now offer the gallery and half my home as accommodation. Recently I have added the Hipcamp platform to further diversify into the “Back to Nature” market. The Eastern part of the property has been ideal for this space with lots of established trees beautiful black Greenough soil and a good supply of rainwater. The sites are in the developing stages but my idea is to keep them as natural as possible, unique and secure. I look forward to catching up and having a yarn….

Greenough Nature Stay
We liked the location. There was nice shade and a sink for doing dishes. The toilet was a simple camp toilet with plastic bags - a little too rustic for some in our group. While the immediate site was raked clean, there was a lot of what appeared to be sheep dung everywhere else.

So upset and not value for money
This review takes into account of the price we paid. Other camps for the same price had swimming pools (1 had 2) and places to eat and were powered. The reviews we read made us believe it would be eco friendly, basic and ack to nature with great birds around. I have stayed all over the world, including in parts of India, Vietnam and Kenya where things were basic.. But never like this. The area was lovely but both the shower and toilet were unusable... I have enjoyed basic hole in the ground and even toilets that were compostable but this was just a large bucket with a seat and so many ants that I darent use it.. The toilet roll was covered with them. We were meant to be met by Max but someone else met us. We weren't shown where the toilet was nor the shower... The toilet was not at all private but we did eventually see a sign for it. The water was disgusting when we looked in the container and the sink was filled with debris. We didn't know how to leave or get back in and had to find someone to ask. We asked about the river and how to get to it and this was not known. We were so disappointed. This has been my 1st negative review in our 3 month trip. The place has so much potential but looked uncared for. Had the price been 15aud this would have at least been similar to our beach front unpowered site that had spotlessly clean toilets and hot water clean showers. We actually paid more than Monkey Mia and although a different experience the amount we paid was so high.

I loved the camp sites and it was an overall good trip! The view is really nice and has all the basic necessaries like toilets, showers and a rain water tank. The camp sites is under trees so there is heaps of shades and the area would definitely be beautiful and green in winter. Thankyou to the host, Max, and I would definitely recommend it to others!
