Back Paddock
Camping with animals
Easy to find
Great spot with lots of room for our dogs to run
Very quiet
Back Paddock
Mixed feelings
Pro - seclusion middle to far end of paddock
Cons:
- Grass long, it's winter thus when walked on totally soaks your shoes/socks/feet, simply fixed with a regular mow
- Don't trust a canned msg to arrive between a certain time to be greeted, I replied when received and cut my slow road trip short to go straight there to meet and greet only to find out when I arrived no one would be meeting me, I then drove 30mins back to the top of the cape region to explore only some of what I had intended (loss of time, waste of fuel)
- Upon attempting to self discover the property as written is recommended, my dogs and I were met by a rather non friendly dog followed by possibly a 5yr old girl stating the dog does not like certain dogs, I asked where was her parents and that she better grab her dog while I carefully backed away to my camp. This is suppose to be friendly dog camp grounds?
- When trying to enjoy a night in relaxation, everything was perfect then a sudden BANG, gunshots and not from a .22 more like a .303 jumping out of my seat and set my dogs off and we were all unsettled for the remainder of our stay. This went on over the next couple of hours at sporadic times making it more unsettling and to be honest quite scary&close!
There is hundreds of roos out, if not thousands that could be hunted or culled in the day, yet the neighboring properties choose to do this at night, between 7 and 9pm in complete darkness and stillness. Not peaceful at all!
*I enjoyed my outdoor shower

Carpark with Toilets
Stunning and peaceful!
We stayed two nights at Commonplace and it was such a beautiful and peaceful experience. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping and pink sunrises, being camped on the stunning green paddock, with privacy but also the chance to meet the owners and even grab a delicious coffee from their hall. The owners were so lovely and inviting and very friendly people, making the experience that much better. At night we had some friendly kangaroos close by too and were at ease with the safety of the property and huge space. Even though it’s winter that didn’t interfere with how much we enjoyed our time here. The owners were very accommodating and helpful, and we very much enjoyed our chats. Another perk was meeting their dogs who were so friendly and cuddly. We were also recommended Claudio’s bake house which we visited and were taken aback by how special this place was and how good the food was too - you must try the pastry’s! It truly felt like a home away from home, only more beautiful and charming. We highly recommend this place for camping and would love to come back someday.
