Camping at Possum Holler Camp will provide you the perfect blend of solitude and recreation access. You will truly be in the heart of the New River National Park, yet still feel secluded in the beautiful woods without neighbors. You will have private access to beautiful and idyllic Mill Creek, which has many beautiful emerald pools and is even seasonally stocked with rainbow trout! Within a mile you can access the New River Gorge Bridge and the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, and you are equally close to the park's world class climbing, rafting, hiking, ziplining, and mountain biking at the New River Gorge National Park and surrounding areas. Your group will have the entire camp to yourselves, so there's no need to worry about noisy neighbors. Our driveway has recently been revamped to include more flat parking and a less steep access route! While these improvements are great, we still caution our guests to avoid bringing large trailers and to use 4WD if available in an attempt to minimize rutting in the future. We want you to enjoy a lovely campfire, but we ask that you purchase firewood locally because invasive pest species can travel in firewood. Possum Holler Camp is a Leave No Trace campsite, guests are asked to pack out anything they bring in and leave the area undisturbed. This includes damaging vegetation, creating new fire rings, or altering the natural area in any way. Also, please do not camp in the meadow area and only use the cleared out areas in the woods surrounding the parking and picnic/fire area for pitching tents. If you stay below the high water line, then feel free to move as far up or downstream Mill Creek as you like. The creek is indescribably beautiful in both directions! But please keep in mind that there is private property once you are above the high water line, please do not trespass on our neighbor's property.Pitch your tent along picturesque Mill Creek, where you will have access to a picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring, and camp chairs. A variety of fish live in the creek, including stocked trout - bring your pole! You will be the only group at the whole site - nearly three acres - so you get the feel of being secluded without losing quick access to amenities. The site is minutes from all of the best New River Gorge attractions. You won't find a more perfect blend of beautiful solitude and convenient access to recreation, shops, restaurants, and bars. The site includes a number of flat parking spaces for car campers and campervans.

Great spot!
What I great location. Secluded but not too secluded. Beautiful foliage this time of year (late Oct). Picnic table and fire pit provided. The creek was awesome to explore. I'm definitely planning on booking again 😁

Must book!
Awesome host and amazing site! Far enough away from town to feel secluded but close enough to still order pizza. Close to local attractions like adventures on the gorge, local grocery store and restaurant literally 5 minutes down the road and the majestic New River bridge. Will be coming back next year to enjoy the river/stream next to the campsite.

Great location, Amenities, and More
Possum Holler is in a great location very close to trails and sights in and around New River Gorge! Had more amenities than I expected, which is always a plus! The porta-potty was surprisingly clean as well. Due to the drought the river wasn’t flowing but we were still able to enjoy the sights! Lots of space to park and to set up camp. We loved listening to the many birds singing in the evening and night. Thanks!

Possum Holler Camp
Beautiful, private spot amazing access to New River Gorge NP. The site was set up nicely and even had a tarp over the picnic table which saved us from the rain. The grill was also a nice touch and the porta potty was super clean - thanks so much! We will be back!

If you are looking for a place to stay that is secluded yet minutes away from the fun, this is the spot! Very nice place to camp & relax after a long day of activities on the Gorge! On our down time we hung out near the creek and enjoyed the views, smores were an absolute must with the campfire at nighttime! Very nice & clean place!
