NO WATER. NO BATHROOMS. NO HOST.
THIS CAMPGROUND IS NO LONGER MAINTAINED. NO WATER. NO BATHROOMS. We booked through HipCamp and got charged and a confirmation email. When we got to the campground, there was no one there, no bathrooms, no water. We asked a passing zip line van what the deal was, and the driver said that campground was shut down last year. No idea how this site is still listed on HipCamp. We will be contacting them immediately about this. Very dangerous experience for us getting to a camp with absolutely nothing.

We loved staying here!! What a great place to get away to and a perfect spot to set up camp while exporing the island. Tad and his family were so helpful and accommodating, even giving us some fun ideas for things to do. The campsite is still relatively new so it’s a work in progress, but Tad is doing a fantastic job! We couldn’t find easy access to the lake, but we could see it from our site (6). I highly recommend staying here if you visit San Juan Island, great experience!

The pictures did deceive a bit. We enjoyed that our camp sites was private and had wood bark chips for designated tent spots. There was no one at the office until the weekend, and we did not have service to call the number on the sign. I think this place has great potential, but for the amenities offered, it is not worth the cost.
Fort Liberty
Nice, quiet , secluded sites. Well established tent pads are nice but would be useful if they were a touch larger. Water is available but only at the office which, for the price, is inconvenient. Amount of dirt around for walk-in sites leaves you acutely aware of the lack of showers.

Ft. Liberty is a great camp ground. We loved being so close to the lake. We would definitely return if we decide to camp on San Juan Island again. The only issue was the port a potty’s were almost totally full.
