Spring Hill Farm is located in rural northwest Hanover County/Caroline County Border on the North Anna River in Virginia. We are between the Cities of Fredericksburg to our north and Richmond to our south. This site had Civil War activity throughout the region, especially along the banks of the North Anna. We are an African American family that has owned this property for 5 generations. My late grandparents instilled in me since when I was young the importance of land stewardship. My mother and I take it very seriously. We have approximately 140 acres of wooded acreage (plenty of places to pitch a tent) with a couple of trails, one leading to the North Anna River. Except for the local freight trains, and occasional afternoon target shooting from neighboring properties, it is very quiet and peaceful. Boat ramp about 5 miles away. Walking access to river on site and at county line (1 mile). Local attractions within a 20 mile radius are Sassafras Shade Winery, Kings Dominion Theme Park, Virginia State Fairgrounds, Stonewall Jackson Death Site, Dominion Raceway, North Anna Battlefield, Scotchtown (former home of Patrick Henry), Ashland Berry Farm, and Randolph Macon College. Nearest store for groceries and gas is about 5 minutes away in Chilesburg. 10 miles to fast food and pharmacy. If you are so inclined, you could also have the opportunity to volunteer on an organic farm in the spring and summer months. #1 Bicycle Highway (Verdon Rd./State Rt. 684) less than a mile away. Creek Access (Site #1)
Beautiful, accommodating, private
Camille went out of her way to prepare our space for us. She gave detailed instructions on how to arrive and what to expect. It is a beautiful, well-maintained, private area. Camille loaned us a wagon to help us with the 10 minute walk from parking to the site. It was very doable with our 3 little kids. It has a fun little trail down to a creek and nice view of the fireflies over the field. The kids picked blackberries and played around the big mowed strip of field. She provided a clean convertible picnic table, fire pit, and outdoor toilet. She even hung a few battery-powered outdoor lights. I would definitely camp here again!

Creek Access (Site #1)
Had a great time at Spring Hill Farm. The camp sites are separated by a field and a significant patch of woods. Place was really quiet and private. The distant rail traffic was only noticeable once the woodland creatures settled down for the night. The small creek behind site 1 was just enough to cool your toes after a hot day. Having a picnic table and personal composting toliet at the camp site was nice step above the usual primitive sites.

Trail Access (Site #2)
Wonderful spot!
Camille communicated very well from the time I reserved my spot until the day of. The campsite was clean, nice, and private. Camille also provided a small buggy to carry all my stuff from the car to the site, which was incredibly helpful since I didn't think to bring one. I would recommend this site and Camille to anyone.

Spring Hill Farm
Campsite 2
Great location for privacy and relaxation. Camille welcomed us to the wonderful property and made sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated that the campsite was on a green, surrounded by woods, and that we had the flexibility to pitch where we wanted to. The amenities were nice (pop-up toilet, benches, and fire pit) and we ordered eggs that were waiting for us on site already. Great view of stars and moon too!
