When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting.
Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river.
Pitch your tent on the beach or under the trees if you prefer some shade.
Spend your nights stargazing, enjoying a campfire (remember to bring s’mores ingredients), or fishing for catfish.

Seven Islands Farm offers a serene and spacious camping experience right on the Middle James River. The hosts, Jenny and Mike, are praised for their attentiveness and the well-maintained environment. Campers appreciate the privacy of the sites and the direct river access, which is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and enjoying nature's sounds. While the campsites are mostly secluded, some minor issues with ticks have been noted.
We had the pleasure of staying at site 3 and cannot speak enough to how much we enjoyed the site. Michael was welcoming, helpful, and communicative. The hard work and care that has been put into the property are evident in how immaculately it is maintained. We loved the privacy, the beautiful views, and even the sounds of the occasional passing train. For an extra $30 Michael delivered a huge stack of seasoned, dried firewood right to our site which made for an easy relaxing evening after spending the day out. We will definitely be coming back to this beautiful campground!
This is the best campsite on the Middle James, hands down! The improvements are thoughtfully designed and well maintained, and the natural environment is unrivaled. Jenny and Mike clearly care about their guest's experience and have a special connection with the property. Our group feels very fortunate to have experienced a night camping at Seven Islands Farm.
