Nestled in an open woodland and overlooking a tranquil ornamental lake, a daily hub of activity for local birds and animal life.
Beautiful views of the grampians range. This truly is the place to stop, unwind and take in the wilderness with no one in sight. Let the frogs chant you to sleep at night and the birds sing you awake in the morning. Your sherpas have put up camp to both de-stress your mind & body and re-stimulate all of your senses.
You have your very own camp kitchen with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable on your getaway (cooker, BBQ, kettle, plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils and a retro fridge used as an upright esky with fresh ice provided at the beginning of your stay).
The huge 6 meter bell tent includes a heater, luxurious cotton and wool bedding to compliment the heritage, wrought-iron double bed for the most comfortable night’s sleep. Cozy and Warm: the perfect winter escape. Guests at "The Oasis" have access to their own exclusive camping compound, complete with parking, kitchen/bar/dining area (under a traditionally thatched pergola), lake-side lounge area, private outdoor garden shower & eco toilet.
Your station hands whilst generally invisible working away on the far reaches of the farm will be contactable at anytime through-out your stay. We value your privacy but if you feel like some interaction with us, just shoot us a message and we will happily come and meet you for a chat and take you to see the animals too if you like. If you don't feel like cooking there is the option of takeaway or dining in at the local pub "Barney's Bar & Bistro". Check out their facebook page for the menu and opening hours.
Whilst you will be living a truly remote outback lifestyle, it is only a short 10 minute drive to the bustling tourist village of Halls Gap with cosmopolitan stores, cafes and taverns. A real wilderness experience and the perfect base for exploring the Grampians. We’ve provided an "Ozpig" as an outdoor fire place, the perfect way to spend the evening watching the stars, warm & cozy in front of the fire. We provide paper & kindling to start the fire and can provide a bag of fire wood for $10
Because you are submersing yourself in a natural setting, please be aware of any rubbish and items you bring with you and please do not litter. We recycle all we can but I will take care of all that after you leave. Due to fire restrictions during the hot & dry months of the year, we may be unable to allow fires if it is a total fire ban day. always check the CFA app before lighting the fireplace. Please be aware that part of the experience is getting closer to nature and this may include wildlife such as wallabies, kangeroos and some noisy bird life every now and then. There are also ants around (we have provided some stingoes in the tent) but do not recommend walking around in bare feet.
This safari camp is for singles/couples only. please leave the children at home as there are numerous unfenced waterholes near the camp.
