1 Vehicle/Tent site
Out in the mountains of Far East Gippsland, the Garden party at Metro Meadow Art Studios welcomes you!
Nestled on the Old Combienbar Airstrip surrounded by rolling hills, bushland and state forests, this campground offers a getaway for you and your mates to shed that metropolitan timetable and slow it down... or speed it up! whether you want to a place to relax or somewhere to party the Airstrips got you covered.
Access
Combienbar road is sealed all the way up to the property. As the land was previously used as an airstrip the site is flat with a few hills along the perimeter. Perfect for Tents, RV's, Campervans, 4WDs, and iddy Biddy cars.
Composting Toilets Onsite
We take the other end of your well cooked meal and compost it in an enclosed space onsite. it stays here for 3 years, decomposing until its ready to be used as a natural fertilizer for the orchid.
Animals
You'll see Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Goannas and a whole bunch of different birds including white-faced herons and the occasional eagle.(Hopefully no snakes, but they do occasionally pop by to say hello) You may also hear the wild dogs howling at dusk and dawn too!
Pets
We welcome all Doggies, but please note that the property is not fenced and there are snakes.
Fire Barrels
Plus split wood is available for purchase (Fire Ban pending)
Swimming spots
Head 5ks down the road to find a nice section of river, shallow to deep swimming holes with easy vehicle access.
Towns
Cann River, 45 Minutes east down the road is where you'll find the Pub, Bakery and a Pie Face servo. Cann River also has a community information centre, Op shop and soon to be opened Community Cafe!
A little further West, 1hour and 10 Minutes is Orbost which is home to a food works, IGA, a pub and my personal favourite; Salt Organics (Best sourdough bread and baked goods in all of East Gippsland!)Our 2-acre private campground features large, flat grassy strips that line the pathway, providing a sunny open space perfect for all types of camping. Further north, a thicket of black wattle trees offers ample shade, making it an ideal spot for tents and gathering around the fire. Two composting toilets are accessible right on site. Solar lighting and party lighting on site make it a magical wonderland at night.
