This beautifully renovated cottage situated on the Yarra River has been carefully thought out to be wheelchair friendly. Providing an exceptional experience for guests requiring wheelchairs and the non-ambulatory to enjoy the surrounding environment. With widened doorways, ramp access, roll in shower and seperate toilet space, it allows guests to enjoy a comfortable stay.
The cottage was built in 1916, and is rich in local history as it was part of a larger property used by MacRobertson chocolate company for timber production of wooden casks to hold maize syrup.
To respect the history of the property we have used as many recycled and era correct materials as possible in the build. Part of our philosophy to life is that we feel very strongly about recycling and sourcing quality pre loved materials. This includes the front entrance, kitchen and large windows, that we have salvaged to create the cottage you see now. This beautifully restored cottage set on the river flats was inspired and carefully thought out to be wheelchair friendly, allowing guests requiring wheelchairs and the non-ambulatory to enjoy all that the surrounding environment has to offer.
