Situated in the beautiful locale of Chiltern in northeast Victoria, Granite Springs is located on 80 flat acres with underlying springs and a creek running through the property, and it’s very conveniently situated just a few minutes off the Hume Highway! You can choose to camp privately amongst the native trees or next to the big pond- sit on the jetty and take in the birds, trees and wild life, have a swim to cool down on hot days, toast marshmallows around a campfire, walk along the creek that runs through the property, or just sit by the little waterfall with your feet in the water listening to the water gurgling through the granite stones and allow the stress of life to drift away. Want to go trail riding? Book a site next to the horse safe yards so that you can bring your horse for a weekend of trail riding in the nearby plantations which adjoin the Mount Pilot National Park. Or if trail riding isn’t your thing, you can choose to hire the arena and round yard, or maybe have a lesson with the onsite coach (subject to availability) Or if you prefer, you can participate in a true farm stay experience! Stay near the original farmhouse, choose a powered site, book a Meet, Greet & Feed tour and join us on a feed run to feed the horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens and guinea fowl, enjoy watching the baby animals frolicking (depending on when you stay), get up close and personal to pat and feed some of the animals, collect the eggs, see the dairy goats being milked; and if you wish you can book in to partake in an evening bbq meal with us on the deck and enjoy an evening filled with great food, hospitality and laughter. Should you wish to make it an even deeper experience, you could book in for a reiki session with a qualified and accredited Reiki Master (with or without the animals assisting!) or an Equine Assisted Transformation session... this is the perfect location for those who are energy sensitive and who wish to deepen their connection with the land, nature and themselves, or who feel the need for some healing or clearing work. If you wish, you may pre-order a basket filled with a selection of local produce and goodies for your stay (please note that we require 48 hours notice on some basket selections) So many choices, and you can mix and match to create your perfect camping getaway with as much or as little interaction with the animals or other people as you wish to experience! You can even bring your own 4 legged friends- well behaved dogs are welcome provided they are kept restrained at all times. Less than 3 hours drive from Melbourne, the property is conveniently located within minutes of local shops and Chiltern- Mount Pilot National Park, 10 minutes from the popular town of Rutherglen, 20 minutes from the Murray River, Beechworth and Corowa, 25 minutes from Wangaratta and Albury-Wodonga, 40 minutes from Mount Buffalo… this is a popular location to strike out into the high country from and is very popular with cyclists, hikers and nature enthusiasts alike. Hiking, cycling, nature watching, birdwatching, visiting local sites to see Aboriginal Art, panning for gold at local rivers, berry picking at nearby farms, trail riding… there is so much to do and explore in the local area! Or just come to relax, recharge your batteries and spend some time quality time reconnecting with yourself and/or loved ones Please note: * At this stage, you will need to be fully self contained with your own cooking facilities, toilet, shower and potable water for most of the sites. Communal toilet and shower options will be available in the near future. * Some of the camp sites are 4WD ACCESS ONLY for camper trailers and caravans, and some are inaccessible in wet weather except by 4WD vehicle or walk in. If you are unsure which site will be suitable for you, don’t hesitate to contact us before booking to discuss your needs. If you have a tent you will be able to park your vehicle off the street and walk approx. 500m to your campsite, or if you can’t walk contact us to arrange to be transported there via 4WD or buggy. *There will be some areas that you cannot go on the property due to animals being housed there, and electric fencing is used throughout the property. So please read and follow the signs, stick to the areas designated for public use, always use the gates (and if you open a gate, please close it behind you) and be mindful of the fences. If in doubt, DON’T touch the fence! Or if you do, make sure someone is videoing it and please post it on the Facebook page!! NB- If you would like to explore, then please book a farm tour with us to see the whole property and experience meeting the animals up close and personal. * Campfires in the designated fire pits are welcome, but ARE NOT permitted on days of high fire risk or Total Fire Ban days. You may collect twigs and branches from the ground, but please don’t break or cut branches off trees. Bags of pre-cut wood are available to purchase as an extra or upon request. Please ensure that all fires are completely out before leaving them unattended. * While we welcome your furry family members, we do require them to be well behaved and on a lead at all times. We have a zero tolerance policy for dogs chasing farm animals or being excessively disruptive, and any such behaviour will result in you forfeiting your payment and being asked to leave immediately. You are welcome to walk your dog on lead throughout the designated public areas on the property and along the roadside and surrounding trails. If you wish to visit local areas where dogs can’t be taken, you can book your furry friend in to be dog-sat here on the property while you go out exploring. * As this is a farm, and is surrounded by other farms, there may be farm noises like dogs barking, sheep baa-ing , cows moo-ing, horses neighing, Guinea fowl squawking, and/or Belle the Needy Noisy Nubian Dairy Goat calling for her feed (or rug if it’s cold!) We endeavour to provide a peaceful environment, and this is generally a lovely quiet location which more than fulfils our own personal requirements for an undisturbed lifestyle, and will no doubt do so for the vast majority of campers. But we can’t guarantee it will always be completely silent during the day or at night- especially if the lambs or calves or foals are being weaned from their mothers! Ear plugs are available for light sleepers if required. And if you are an extremely noise sensitive person or someone who wants a private camping experience with no noise or neighbouring houses visible, this may not be the right spot for you (if this is you, we would recommend looking for a more remote stay on a large acreage which will provide you with a more private experience) * And while on the topic- if partying late into the night with loud music, a thumping base on your sound system and extremely raucous singing and laughter is your thing, then this is not the right camping spot for you. While we are all for socialising and having fun, if you want to party loudly into the wee hours we would suggest finding a camping spot far away from neighbouring properties where the sound doesn’t carry for miles across the land. Please be mindful of us, our neighbours and others nearby who may be trying to relax or sleep, and keep noise to a respectful level after the sun has set. TIA for your understanding * We want your stay to be relaxing and enjoyable, so please contact us if you need anything or have any issues and we will be happy to help in whatever way we can :)

Site 2- Private Paddock Retreat
A perfect spot to stop and enjoy exploring the Chiltern/Wodonga area. Good feeling of remoteness, but Wodonga was only a short drive away. Sally was a great host and made us feel very welcome.

Granite springs was our very first hipcamp experience and they have set the bar high. Absolutely gorgeous property! Sally was so friendly and accomodating, taking us for a walk on her property and introducing us to her lovely pets. We would 100% recommend to other hipcampers ☺️

We stayed at the powered site near the farm house. Lovely quiet spot and level ground. Sally’s instructions to get there worked well for us in our 22’ caravan. Great meeting them all and would definitely book again.

Site 1- The Pond
Beautiful
Such a lovely opportunity to stay at Granite Springs. The hosts were so lovely and accommodating. The Pond site has a very inviting spring fed pool to cool off in, however you can access the other spring sites on the property. The horses were magnificent in their interactions. I had the pleasure of booking an equine assisted reike session which was very healing. The ground is great for camping and their bathroom and toilet was fine to use. Thank you so much for having me, I'll definitely be back.

10/10 would recommend!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Granite Springs, hosted by Sally, Adam, and their son Josh. From the start, communication was smooth, and they made us feel welcomed and at ease. Our campsite was simple but perfect for our needs, with easy access to the horses—which our horse-mad daughter Lottie adored—and a lovely pond where we could cool off on warm afternoons. The property’s location was ideal for short trips to local towns like Wangaratta, Rutherglen, and Beechworth, making for easy morning adventures. A true highlight of our stay was the farm tour with Sally. Lottie had the chance to get hands-on with feeding animals and even collected fresh eggs, which we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning—a thoughtful touch that made her day. The BBQ with the hosts was equally memorable. We shared a delicious meal and great conversation as Lottie happily played the evening away with Josh. Our time at Granite Springs was a beautiful escape for our whole family, including our dog Winnie. We are so grateful for the warm hospitality and these lasting memories!

Super friendly hosts!
A really lovely spot with incredibly friendly hosts. Our toddler loved being on a real, working farm where he got to see lots of animals and machines. Sally was easy to communicate with prior to arrival, and her warmth continued when we got there. She put together a great goodie bag full of local treats which we’ve enjoyed for our lunches and dinners since. Our toddler’s highlight was definitely playing on the tire swing with Josh, their sweet boy who was very kind and funny.
