Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Great grassy flat rural site with waterfront views of Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory. Property will have grass slashed around 12-20th Dec ready for the Xmas holiday period, outside of these times the grass will be bit higher. Just a short work to the famous Long Jetty and the Port Welshpool pub has re-opened (https://www.facebook.com/TheRustyGurnard/) Easy access and short drive (100m) to the boat ramp. Great fishing both on land and from the boat. For those who like to enjoy a bike ride, access to Great Southern Rail Trail ; Tarra Trail (Leongatha to Port Welshpool) 75km bike track now extended to Port Albert and Yarram - , www.gsrt.com.au Wilsons Promontory National park is Victoria's oldest national park. It covers 50,000 hectares and features pristine beaches, forests and places to visit. There is a 19-km (return) walk to Sealers Cove that can be accomplished in a day and the track takes you through mountains, temperate rainforest and secluded beaches. If you want some fresh bread delivery on a Sunday, check out https://www.allysbakery.com.au/ or https://www.facebook.com/p/allys-bakery-61565353347501/ Much of the coast and water around the Promontory is also a marine park with seabirds, seals, turtles and passing whales. There are also various fishing and other cruises available such as https://www.wildlifecoastcruises.com.au for full day Prom Cruises and fishing charters such as www.duffscharters.com.au Please pack your insect spray because depending on the season and weather conditions sandflies can be around especially at nightfall. Also be aware that if there has been rain that the block may be wet and boggy so check before driving into the block to avoid getting stuck.

Great spot
Camped on the bush block. Nice spot in amongst the trees with lots of space for our group. Close to the beach and jetty. Look forward to getting back here soon.

Port Welshpool Coastal Waterfront
It’s a great location. However, the block of land is not well maintained. Very rough ground, grass and weeds poorly slashed. Poorly signed and you won’t find a no 7 anywhere on the property. Advertised as having views but that’s not the case. Overall not a spot that we’d return to or recommend.

Scratchy camper
Booked 6 nights as we had a caravan 3 people 3 nights, 4 people 2 nights, 5 people 1 night. $680 Place is an open vacant block of land, most of it was boggy , the rest was tractor slashed with deep tractor tyre tracks ( probs not suitable for tents) . As advertised, there is no water, toilets, power or bins. That is ok, we knew what we were in for there. What we didnt know is that the mozzies and little sandflies are epic, and I mean biblical, we are all still rasping our skin away 36 hours later, and we left 36 hours early from our booking as we couldn’t handle it anymore and ran out of our more than ample supply of repellent. There is also no wind break as it is an open paddock and the wind gets pretty full on in Port Welshpool. If you had a boat moored or going in every day from Pt Welshpool and needed a spot to crash and of an evening I could see it possibly being plausible, but for a family in a caravan to do a “ close the the prom holiday camp” no way. Plenty of free or cheap stuff inland and almost as close with drop dunnies and without biting insect infestation. There are no lies in the advertising btw, but for me there is no bang for your buck here at all.
