Flat camp sites available a stones throw away from the Campaspe River which flows all year round. The O'Keef Rail Trail is close by and very popular for walking and bike riding. You will find seasonal fruit trees among the camp sites which can be eaten at your leisure. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Just a short stroll up the road you will find Axedale Tavern for a tasty meal or a cold beer and a newly opened cafe (Rise and Grind) that have delicious coffee and food to go. There is a service station between the two as well as a general store. 11km away you have Lake Eppalock that’s great for skiing/fishing and swimming locations for the whole family. No fresh water or power available and rubbish must be taken with you. Fires only permitted in season and in fire pits, some wood can be provided.

Great outlook over the river and nice even ground. Gate is very narrow so be super careful. Short walk to the Tavern.

Great little spot close to the river, short walk to the pub and cafe and right on the bike trail. We had a wonderful time.

Bike riding
We enjoyed our three nights here. We rode the O'Keefe's Trail over two days and a perfect half way point. Nice and quite no loud parties to contend with. Road noise was annoying but didn't really bother us too much. Nice walking distance to pub and had a lovely swimming spot on the River. Would recommend to stay here

Great proximity to Campaspe River
We were fortunate to get a lovely shaded spot next to the trees. There was some road noise but it was not too bad. The best thing about the camp is that it is right next to the Campaspe River with a nice little swimming spot and a couple of lovely walks. We really enjoyed our time and left there feeling very relaxed and well rested!

Pros - Close to rail trail and Campaspe River; bird song (including nocturnal birds such as owls); we had the place to ourselves. Cons - the road noise was relentless. We appreciated the instant booking and short notice. We didn't meet the property owners but figured we were in the right place as no-one kicked us off 🙂 Lovely to hear the sound of children playing and laughing from the house.
