Grand views of rolling hills
Buchan is a cute little town with access to the Snowy River National Park and the Caves Nature Reserve. Although quite a few tracks were closed, we visited the Caves, Basin Creek Falls and Mckillops Bridge.
The property itself is very nice and overlooking neighbouring farm lands with plenty of cows and other animals, with a distant sound of a running stream. There were a few other campers there however it didn't feel cramped and was generally a nice quiet stay. The camping spots are on a gentle slope, nothing serious but may need to level your setup a bit.
Paul and Kirstie are lovely hosts who provided us with alot of local information and advice on what to do etc.
The local pub is a mere few minute walk into town who serve nice cold beer and good food, the parmy was delish. The Road House also have the best potato scallops.
Thankyou for a great stay!

Great spot, average booking and fly
HiCamps for some reason would not allow us to choose a non powered camping option, so I chose powered. I assumed the reason was is that it was booked out, but when we got there, there was only one other person camped in a tent, and heaps of room for more tents.
So if you don't require powered option, just check, they may be available despite hicamps not stating that. This was $10 more I think.
Then hicamps charged a service fee of $10, and then we chose to get fire for $15 on top.
As for the site, everything was there as described, although it was not exactly clear where wood could be grabbed from for a fire, pretty sure it's the trailer.
All power, water, fire pit, and bins are located around the central dairy hut thing.. with wood on trailer near shed I believe at the top of the hill.. I used that.
The location is great, 1 minute from town and 6mins to caves, and the Grass Is a great place to pitch a tent, valley looks great. Only major downside, and I'd call it major, Flys. As long as you don't pull out food, they won't come. But as soon as you start cooking, they come from everywhere. only if you start cooking or eat it. It can be very unpleasant. But it's a dairy farm and that's to be expected.

Grandview Sanctuary is exactly that- a campsite where you can soak up the peace of the valley with great views. The hosts kindly provide extension cords and hoses, so the few campers sharing the site can stay spaced. Only a short walk to the nearest park, to town and to Buchan caves. Would highly recommend staying.
