🚙4WD ARE A MUST DURING WET WEATHER. Our farm is only a minutes' drive from the township of Kinglake. Or a 20-minute easy walk to shops and cafes. We are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking, biking and 4WD driving. Fowkes family farm is a small, hobby, flower farm. Made up of 15 acres of working land and 35 acres of bush land. We have a 2-acre orchard with seasonal fruit available to be picked. ( Dec - April) The farm has over 100 king protea bushes and many other varieties of protea. Seasonal pick your own flowers too. ( Aug - March) Backing onto the national park and walking tracks. Jehoshaphat Gully, Shelley Harris Track, Mt Jerusalem Track. Walking distance to Kinglake historic walk, Cookson Hill Track, Mt Everard Track, Bollygum Park. Visit Mason Falls Waterfall, 12-minute drive to Kinglake West. We have 2 dogs, 5 pet sheep and 4 lambs, 1 blue tongue lizard The farming area is completely fenced in, this is to keep the deer out, but you can venture out onto the property bush land with the correct map and navigation equipment. Off Grid Mountain Swimming Hole
Off-grid peaceful bliss
The off-grid Mountain Swimming Hole is a beautiful and expansive place, very quiet and feels like a world away while being minutes from Kinglake town centre. We felt very privileged to be the first to stay, pitching the first tent, laying and lighting the very first camp fire, and toasting the first marshmallows. Tamara was a wonderful host, inviting us to watch her sheep being sheared, bringing us a shovel and bricks with which to build our fire pit, and providing us with plenty of info on the local area. It was so nice to have so much space to ourselves.

Farm flowers and spring - site 4
Lovely bush camp
Loved this camp site. Our 23’3 caravan fit with no issues kids (7-13 years old) loved catching tadpoles (catch & release). Campfires were a hit (scavenged for fire wood on the ground). Nice walks around the property (careful of snakes). Found animal bones which my kids thought were epic. Short stroll (or drive) into town - loved the pizza. Dump points about 30 minutes away (Yea & Healesville). Some road noise, but not an issue. Tamara was friendly and helpful on what to do/see in the area (eg. Whittlesea Monday markets).

Mountain Flower Farm, Site 1
Fabulous place to relax
I really enjoyed this particular Hipcamp. Tamara is a great host, stopping by each day for a quick checkup and chat, to make sure we were happy. The property itself is fantastic, with an eastern view over the forest behind, sheep munching on grass in front of you (say hi to Oreo the Ram!) and incredible birdsong to wake you up in the morning. Very glad we paid extra for the firewood - the sites have fire pits ready to use, so it was great being able to stroll over the the woodpile and grab what we needed for a cozy evening around the flames. The property is only a couple minutes' drive from the Kinglake township or, as we discovered, a relaxing 15 minute walk. Made it that much nicer being able to stroll up to the pub for a couple drinks and a nice meal, without worrying about having to drive back to camp. We'll definitely be coming back!
