Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. King Island lighthouse is visible on clear nights, and there are koalas and wallabies in abundance. Whilst we require you to BYO toilet, we do have hot shower, woodfired hot-tub, power, water and phone reception. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township. Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space. We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot. There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood. Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as firewood, power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub. And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property. Note - if towing a medium-large caravan, it's essential you are comfortable manouvering in tight spaces. Also note the bitumen road has signs advising against caravans (presumably because turning around can require reversing into a driveway).

Not at all suitable for a caravan!!
Despite advising prior to booking we had a caravan, the size of van & towing (13mtr) we were never advised the road is unsuitable for caravans! Drive up a single steep & windie road we finally came across property which could not be turned into with a van. Rang owner who said, well why can’t you reverse in. Seriously no chance. Went up road & attempted a 25 point with a 13 mtr van & landcruiser, one of the locals came out & said it’s quite a common occurrence & locals can’t believe the size vehicles that come to site. While talking to owner he did say “What do you want me to do? Have a walk on property & if not suitable refund & go elsewhere “! It’s a long weekend no chance of finding something else!!! So eventually got onsite, no gravel or flat areas as mentioned on page (only flat area has a caravan stored by owners) So parked where we stopped, too steep and wet to turn around. Decided to stay where we were & wait a few days to see if we could turn around, despite best efforts had to winch van around so we could at least get from drive to leave. Look the views are great and hot tub fantastic but the price you pay $140 plus per night with power that kept shorting due to a power box that can’t handle 2 caravan (1 owners) and a water pump, all lighting around covered area not working, water despite going through 2 filters dirty, mud & broken tiles around tub. It’s not worth the risk taking a van. Won’t even mention what it was like driving down in first gear!

This spot was stunning! Our toddler loved getting visits from the alpacas in the morning, and we enjoyed the incredible views from the caravan window - no less diminished by the rain. Host Fiona was super helpful and very friendly. Would recommend this camp.

What an amazing location! Beautiful views of the ocean from atop the ridgeline. Access to power and water is one thing, but a wood-fired tub? Priceless! Private location, beautiful bush setting. Highly recommended.
