Billabong Flats Farm is a 100 Acre property enhanced by 1km of King River access in the heart of Wangaratta, North East Victoria. It has an abundance of birdlife including Kookaburras, Kingfishers, Blue Wrens, Cormorants and many types of water birds. The property is in a fantastic location to the Wangaratta township as it is only 1.5 kms drive into town to get all your supplies if required including, Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, Dan Murphys, Kmart, Camping Stores, Petrol Stations, Cinema, Bowling Alley and the wonderful choice of Hotels, Restaurants and Take away options if required. Mains water is available at the property to top up your Vans or Gerry cans should you need to replenish, so never run out of water 😊 It is surrounded by picturesque green countryside laden with ancient Red Rivergum Trees and billabongs with access to river frontage for fishing and two sites the King River Site and White Cedar sites have a swimming hole for those hot summer days. The Secret Island site does have a swimming spot but not as safe for little ones. The river is ideal for swimming, tubing, floating and fishing. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property. Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided at the King River site plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around. The King River Site is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us. Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras). We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

Secret Island River View Site
We loved camping at Secret River, it is a beautiful spot amongst the trees, the grass was mown, lots of birds and a spot to swim. Town isn’t far away either so it’s handy if you leave anything behind. Kerryn was a great host and easy to organize everything with. Thanks for having us.. We will be back next year!

Great stay, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but only a couple of minutes from town. Property was well maintained and the river was refreshing

White Cedar River View Site
Shade, wildlife, amazing hosts!
We absolutely LOVED our mini-holiday at Kerryn and John's White Cedar site! The white cedar tree was the perfect playground for our son, who climbed it and swung from it all weekend. The firepit and wood was super generous (we bought wood but didn't expect so much!). The proximity to town, the Milawa cheese factory and the wineries (particularly brown brothers) was just brilliant. Kerryn, John and their daughter Chloe, were so welcoming and warm! Their directions were clear, the site had easy access, and whilst there were other campers within sight, they were quite a distance away and we couldn't hear them at all. The centuries old river red gums, prolific king fisher population, local roos and just topped off our weekend. We couldn't have been happier! So happy, that we've booked again for Xmas 26!

Secret Island River View Site
We loved our stay at Secret Island. Such a spacious and secluded area. We bought firewood and there was plenty to last our 3 nights and more. Having already booked for another weekend in the new year, we look forward to cycling in and around Wangaratta and fishing in the river the campsite is set by. Thanks to Kerryn and John for making such a lovely farm available.
