44 acres hosted by Raquel N.
Come and enjoy our peaceful, 44-acre, riverside property. Our beautiful South Gippsland farm runs along 2.5km of the Franklin River – complete with several small waterfalls.
We have park-like gardens, fruit and nut groves, grassy flats, bushland and rainforest pockets. Wherever you are, the soundtrack consists of the river, birds and frogs. We (and our chooks) share the space with wombats, wallabies, echidnas, koalas and apparently, platypus!
We have a range of sites to cater for different tastes. We offer:
• 3 hidden self-sufficient camping sites along the river that require a hike to get to (or a ride in our ATV)
• 2 sites accessible by 2WDs or motor homes, which are also riverside but are within or nearby to our park-like garden
• A 3-bedroom self-contained suite in our home (for those who prefer creature comforts)
Along with the landscape and flora, we have an abundance of fauna including wombats, echidnas, wallabies, platypus, koalas (be warned, they grunt loudly) and a plethora of birds including lyrebirds. And yes, we do have snakes, mainly copperheads but there are some tigers too.
What we don't have are large numbers of people at once, grid power or mobile phone signal!
Due to the wildlife (including the snakes) and our free-range chooks, we don't allow dogs.
We're about 10 minutes from Foster. It's a 15-minute drive to Agnes Falls or 30 minutes to Sandy Point. Easy drives to towns such as Fish Creek, Meeniyan, Welshpool and Toora.
