This land is a very special place. The energy is calming and you will feel at peace with yourself after just a short time walking through the woods. This property was first purchased by my great grandfather in 1919. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from my father in 2007. Much work was done to bring it back from being neglected and overgrown. The original buildings burned to the ground in 1948 and the property has been rebuilt over the last dozen years. It is a work in progress but also a labor of love. Enjoy a stay in this small rustic cabin. Experience peace and solitude while enjoying magnificent views atop forested hills offering stunning southeast views that overlook Vermont's central mountain ranges. The site is secluded and private and is ideally situated to view wildlife, allowing one to experience the outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. WiFi is available at the barn should there be the need to reconnect with the world at large. Two guests sleep comfortably in the cabin; four would be a little tight but manageable - there is ample room for tents if need be. The 8' x 8' cabin has one set of twin bunkbeds (bedding is not provided) and an 8' x 4' covered porch. In the colder seasons there is a propane Buddy Heater available to keep the cabin cozy. The outhouse with a composting toilet is situated close to the cabin. There is a fire ring on the stone patio with a cooking grate available for grilling. Pre-purchased firewood will be at the cabin, ready for your arrival. Additional wood is available for purchase on the way up to the cabin. Recently added is a portable kitchen, set up outside for an easier cooking experience as well as a wash bin for dishes. Items available at the site: Water for dishes Cast iron pan for grilling/grate cooking Small pots with covers (multiple) Pizza pan for grilling/grate cooking Basic grilling utensils (spatula, tongs) Serving spoon(s) Various eating utensils/knives Cups/plates/bowls Dish soap & cloths Heat-resistant gloves (for grates) Small propane grill First aid kit & fire extinguisher The main property is located in the heart of a rural farming community between the town of Greensboro (home of Caspian Lake), and the village of Hardwick. It offers 3 - 4 miles of groomed, wooded trails, ideal for walking, hiking, mountain and fat biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The cabin is also in close proximity to Hill Farmstead Brewery (7 miles), The Highland Center for the Arts (3 miles) and the Willey's Store (3.5 miles). The village of Hardwick (3 miles) offers local shops, markets, restaurants, Buffalo Mountain Co-op and Front Seat Coffee (an artisan coffee house also offering free WiFi). 13 miles from the town of Craftsbury and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, an olympic-style sport training facility catering to all ability levels. Additionally the central location offers access to many of Vermont's State Parks (Green River Reservoir State Park, Elmore State Park, Groton State Park, Crystal Lake State Park, Willoughby State Forest, Brighton State Park, just to name a few) offering daily access for hiking, fishing, swimming, paddle-boarding, canoeing and kayaking.Enjoy a stay in this small rustic cabin. Amazing view at private cabin
We stayed two nights and the view was amazing! The walk to the cabin was a bit challenging and muddy, but definitively managable. You have a lot of privacy. Since it was already October and cold at night, I would recommend to bring warm sleeping bags and a hot water bottle if you go around the same time!

Kingdom Star Cabin
The site is completely isolated and has an amazing view of the rolling hills and mountains. We had everything we needed and enjoyed cooking outside on the fire and using the outdoor kitchen which was stocked with everything you could need. The area is covered in hikes and the town is only minutes away.

Amazing place
It was a beautiful place, we really enjoyed our time there. The connection with the nature far away from the city and you can actually see the stars.

Kingdom Star Cabin
What a magical place! Our group of 4 adults, 3 kids (6-8years old) and 1 dog had a magical weekend at Kingdom Star. The 2 brooks on the property were perfect for wading and plunging to keep us cool; the views were spectacular, and the camp site had cooking gas in the cook stove, and 2 large jugs of water available. The hike into the camp site with loaded wagons was very challenging - this is not a camp to come to if you are nursing injuries that would make it hard for you to haul your gear up a hill that amounts to a 1/3 mile ski slope. It's STEEP! But the rewards we exceed the effort and we can't wait to return. Thank you for maintaining such a fabulous camp site, Dan! We loved every minute of it.

Amazing Stay!
Fantastic views, cute campsite, and well-equipped kitchen. Great location with restaurants and activities a short drive away. Recommend packing light for the climb up the hill (but the wagons help!)
