The only spot to camp near Mt Ascutney! Overland Field is located directly off of Rt 44 and has 11 acres of meadow along the river right at the base of the mountain. Extremely close proximity to Ascutney Outdoors Center, mountain biking trails, gravel riding, and the Brownsville Butcher & Pantry.Meadowside at Overland Field is a large flat and grassy space on the banks of the Mill Brook and at the base of Mt Ascutney in West Windsor, Vermont. It's perfect for wading, swimming (if the water level is high enough), and brook trout fishing. It's also within walking and riding distance to endless hiking and mountain biking trails at Ascutney Outdoors. The Brownsville Butcher & Pantry is also an easy walk, ride or drive down the road... get their breakfast burrito... it is to-die for! Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves, but please note there may be another group visible across the meadow. Guests will have access to a communal fire place, picnic tables, and portable toilet. Sharing is caring! Be kind and say hello. We welcome well-behaved pups! If you plan to take them off-lease, please be alert as Rt 44 is a major state road and cars drive fast. There are no hookups at this site and we recommend a 4x4 vehicle to access the site... Overlanders, bikers, runners, hikers, hang-gliders, and everyone in between are welcome!

Meadowside At Overland Field
Such a peaceful spot!
Ansel’s land is a awesome spot with a very unique feel. Your right along a running brook with nice crystal clear water. Our dogs loved running free in the field and going up this little 20 ft path to get to a nice deep spot of the brook. This location is very private and provides a tranquil feel with the running water. There is much to do with a short drive down into windsor or at the ascutney resort across the street. We also took the 30 minute drive to weston and woodstock. Ansel is a great host and made sure we were good throughout our stay. I highly suggest checking out Ansel’s meadow if you are camping in the area. It’s by far one of the best hipcamps we have stayed and we have done quite a few. We will definitely be back to Ansel’s next year!

We really enjoyed the quiet campsite on the river. This was an excellent place to base out of for biking. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice spot. Close to the road and there is only 1 fireplace. If you get there first, good times. If not then you're dependent on who does. In our case, that couple didn't even make a fire.

Meadowside At Overland Field
One of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Slept listing to the river, crickets and owls. The river is so accessible and we barely left it. Amazing for families and dog owners. We will definitely be back! The only cons (and they are SO minimal) were road noise, dog poop, and I wouldn’t plan to use the toilet if you don’t need to. It “””was a holiday weekend so I’m sure it isn’t always so overfull, but nice to have an alternative.

The river nearby was crystal clear and so beautiful. The area was well maintained and large, lots of space to pick a good site.

Good flat fun!
It's a convenient spot. Closer to road than I expected, but if you park your car carefully, you can prevent headlights from shining in your tent. Really nice flat grassy space. Cleanest porta potty I've ever seen. Close to butcher-pantry, which is wonderful spot with incredible food.
