Maple Rock Hollow
Maple Rock Hollow is the perfect get away location, set on 30 acres at the base of Laraway Mountain in Belvidere, Vermont; conveniently located on a dirt road off of route 109. We have a dirt driveway and while the parking area terrain is mostly flat, it may be a little unsteady for folks with gait issues. Both our road and driveway may become quite muddy especially during “mud season”, generally in the spring.
Nestled at the bottom of Laraway Mountain, Maple Rock Hollow provides a tranquil place to stay while providing easy access to a myriad of outdoor activities. Enjoy Vermont’s world-class skiing; Smuggler’s Notch (20 minutes), Jay Peak (30 minutes) and Stowe (40 minutes) are all nearby! The property is just a short ride to the Vermont Long Trail and the Lamoille County Rail trail. It is surrounded by opportunities for skiing, other winter activities, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, numerous watering holes, zip lining, leaf peeping in season, exploring Vermont’s many covered bridges, access to nearby VAST and VASA trails, and more!
Unwind from your day of adventure by enjoying the wooded setting by making smores at the fire pit under the starry sky and relax surrounded by nature, while sipping your drink of choice; perhaps a beer from one of the many local breweries
Please be aware that given our rural location, our cell phone coverage is weak. Six miles west there is more reliable cell phone access. Future plans include reliable internet access.
We strongly recommend you download a map of Vermont prior to your stay to ensure that you are able to find your way. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like additional information, recommendations, directions, etc.
If you plan to use the fire pit during your stay, make sure to pick up some firewood when you stop for groceries at one of the area markets. We provide one bundle per reservation.
Other things to note:
Our property is SMOKE FREE - no smoking is permitted anywhere on the property. This includes Marijuana, vaping and edibles. Illegal drug use is prohibited at all times.
Currently, we cannot accommodate pets. Thank you for your understanding.

The perfect, imperfect cabin to get away and relax. Maple Rock Hollow Cabin is a one bedroom, one bath, rustic cabin. The cabin can comfortably sleep up to 4 – there is a Queen size bed in the bedroom, and a full size futon in the living room that can sleep two adults that don’t mind being close. For your adventurous kiddos, there is a set of children’s size bunk/cots that are available. The bunk/cots can be set up as bunks or 2 separate cots (please request when booking, or prior to your arrival). The cabin has a window air conditioning unit in the main living area for the summer months and propane heat for the winter months. The shower requires a step up to get in. There is not a bedroom door, but there is a curtain to offer some privacy between the bedroom and living area.
Play games or work on puzzles at the kitchen table, prepare your meals in the fully equipped kitchen, or outside on the provided propane grill, and then retreat to the bedroom for a restful night’s sleep and arise to the peaceful, quiet setting (linens are provided).
Guest Access:
Maple Rock Hollow Cabin is located on the left when entering our first dirt driveway (mailbox 259 at the end of the driveway). The entire cabin is yours to use during your stay except for the laundry room, attached garage, and the wood stove near the side of the living room, which we ask that guests not use. Check yourself into the cabin at your convenience using a personalized, secure access code which will be provided. There is plenty of parking in front of the garage and to the left of the cabin, and room for all of your toys, ATV, snowmobile, boat, etc.

The Maple Rock Hollow cabin has the perfect level of comfort for a fall weekend getaway. We stayed 3 nights. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed going for early morning walks by the pond and up and down the quiet road. The cabin has a full kitchen that included everything you might need. The bed was extremely comfortable and had a memory foam mattress. There were lots of blankets available which we didn’t need, but if it had been colder (below 0 Celsius) we might have used them. The cabin is a quick 40 minute drive from Stowe and the roads are generally in good condition. We also visited Lake Elmore, a state park with a lakefront and hiking trails.
Although there was no wifi, I had 2-4 bars of service the entire stay. A bonus was having the TV connected to streaming services, as well as the thoughtful addition of toiletries, extra towels, and a coffee delivery the first night we arrived. We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Maple Rock Hollow Cabin! It was the perfect way to begin our holiday through Vermont; cozy, clean and quiet. We loved having access to a full kitchen to prepare our own food; we wish we could have spent more time to enjoy a fire or try out the bbq. A lovely spot tucked in the mountains that we would happily return to some day if we should ever be in the area again!

Cozy comfortable Vermont cabin
With kids
We had a great visit at the Maple Rock Hollow Cabin. Kathy and her husband were more than accommodating. They set us up with a fire in the fire pit and wood to burn, along with a s’mores kit to enjoy with our toddler. The cabin was fully equipped and comfortable. It was warm, clean, with water pressure for a hot shower. The bed was comfortable and my aunt was comfortable on the futon. Plenty of towels, sheets, and blankets. We would love to return one day.
