A former farm now a 150 acre forested retreat. Mt Ascutney, a 3500' monadnock is to the north and view in excess of 60 miles to the south. The beautiful Weathersfield meeting house is our neighbor as you drive in. Fall is just around the corner and cooler weather, book now before it’s too late. Dogs, we have inherited a dog that is not fond of other dogs. If you are coming to the pond or just walking by please let us know so we can make sure our dog is inside. Phone numbers on the wall of the cabin. The road has gotten quite rough with all the wet weather. 4wd with ground clearance is recommended. Total trip from our house is 320yd if your car is not up to the trip in. Curl up in front of the fire and relax. Marsh Billings farm museum in Woodstock has lots of Vermont Country store is close and Woodstock has unique shopping. Spacious one room camp, bunk bed, dinning table, and chairs. Sweeping view to the South. Swimming pond 5 minute walk. LP burner and some cooking utensils. Wood stove for those chilly nights. No electricity but LED battery lighting. l. Green Mountain Retreat
The view was incredible, and the cabin was cozy. It hit just below freezing the nights I was there but the wood stove kept the cabin cozy throughout the night. It’s a great little cabin in the middle of the woods for this time of year.

Perfect getaway!
This is the perfect space for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed walks, sunsets, a beautiful view, and sitting by the outdoor firepit.

This Pack LOVED the Views...
This was our 3rd Hipcamp, but 1st time in VT... I travel with 3 large dogs, where our newest rescue can be people and dog reactive/unsure at first. So I read through ALL the reviews, as I was looking for quiet and private place, where the pups and myself 'can just be still' without the day-to-day noise. We FOUND just that at John's cabins. John is very understanding, respectful and great communicator. I never met him and we saw 0 people our whole trip. There are MILES of WILD trails. They are NOT marked and definitely not traveled, but they are there and we found them... It is a beautiful spot and peaceful spot... you will find yourself just STARING at the Mountains across for hours... the VIEW is simply priceless and so worth it. We can't wait to go back again...

Green Mountain Retreat
So charming and relaxing!!
I've stayed here several times over the last few years, and it's magnificent every time. It's such a cozy and comfortable place with so many charming details. It's not fancy and it's a very down to earth cabin stay, but it is my favorite cool and cold weather cabin in all of New England. The views are exquisite, the surrounding area is gorgeous with great outdoor options, and the local food is great. Most of all I love just relaxing in the gorgeous scenery, whether it's sun, rain or snow. My dogs love it too!

Solo weekend away
I got lucky to stay here after a last minute cancellation on Columbus Day weekend. The cabin and property are amazing. Since it was my first solo camping experience with just a dog I really wanted to feel safe and comfortable and John and Patty really made me feel that way. highly recommend staying here the view is amazing.
