140 Acre Pecan Farm with Wildlife
Peaceful with Pecans
Super great hosts, amazing location. We boondocked in our camper between the rows of the pecan trees and biked around the property. We got to see the farm animals with the hosts, and had the long horns visit us at the campsite. would definitely stay here again!

Camping with Longhorns
My family spent four days on property and really had a great time. The hosts are very nice and provided great communication. We went in Oct and the area was very dry. The thing I was most interested in was fishing and that was not really possible when we visited, so that was a let down. I loved the location as we were about an hour away from home. I did not think the night sky was all that dark in this location, but the moon was waxing each night and it was pretty bright. So check the phase if you are interested in star gazing. The property had many spots to camp. The longhorns free range the property, and each morning we woke up to our hosts in the campsite. They are very well mannered, but still very large with very large horns and we did have to clean up around the site after our "visits". The property is a pecan farm as well and wood was readily available on the ground. I think we cleaned up about an acre of land with the random wood laying around. Two areas that could be improved: (1) there are zero ammeditites. An outhouse, picknick table, etc would really add to the visit that is multiple days. (2) there was a dumpster but it was completely full and we could not use it and had to drive our trash and waste to town, really not fun. We took a portable toilet and tent that worked for the visit, but this would be a must. I would highly recommend, this is a great property, just know if you want it, take it with you!

Summer camping at the nut farm
Great time at the nut farm. Location was secluded and freshly mowed. Bunch of good spots that the owner showed us and many with shade. Will be back.

First trip with my full family and this site didn’t disappoint. Sherry was very welcoming, her husband showing us various locations options for our stay based on what we wanted, and even offering to clear additional area if needed.
We were able to interact with the Longhorns, which was a first for us. They were very friendly and eager to meet you before going about their day.
Looking forward to returning to this site in the future.

Wonderful, friendly hosts who have a lovely secluded farm in the countryside. Friendly cows will greet you under the pecan trees.

Loved it! we booked 2nd night
We stayed on March 2-3 and loved it so much tha we booked a second night March 3-4. It is just so peaceful. We loved watching the herd of longhorns make their way around the pasture and look at us inquisitively before moving on.
They have other animals, chickens, goats, donkeys but we stayed in our area relaxing. If you have kids I’d take them to see the other animals.
When we left, we headed to the Texas Tulip Farm in Pilot Point. You definitely want to go on a weekday like we did. We passed by there Sat and the crowds were insane at about noon.
We also recommend Brandy’s Cafe in Decatur for a good breakfast. Two thumbs up!
These two Okies enjoyed our 3 day TX getaway and are so grateful for property owners opening up their land to Hipcampers. We had an awesome experience.
