Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Our purpose is to offer you different accommodation options, so that you can live with your family and friends the experience of enjoying an unforgettable vacation in absolute comfort; without missing anything. You will find all sorts of ways to commune with nature at Lake Bastrop North Shore Park. Its 182 acres are nestled in the Lost Pines region and reside on Lake Bastrop – a place where fishermen thrive catching award-winning largemouth bass. Rent one of the park’s kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards or corcls (round watercraft for children) to take out on the lake. Pack your hiking boots and hit the 4.5-mile trail, offering an intermediate challenge for users with various inclines and descents, which connects to LCRA Parks’ Lake Bastrop South Shore Park. Along the trail, you can spot whitetail deer, jackrabbits, lizards and the occasional grey fox. Once you’ve arrived at the other park, you can show off your spike shot in a game of sand volleyball or tee off in a round of mini golf. Lake Bastrop North Shore Park also has a camp store for firewood, ice, snacks and souvenirs to make your camping experience even more pleasurable.

Disappointment
The property was beautiful but, unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I have to say about my experience. The nearby parking lot was full, and we had to park in an adjacent parking lot (across the street). The area surrounding the property and down to the lake was full of ant hills. When we found the glat, the code that was provided to us did not work. We tried dozens of times, and even tried similar codes (just in case a number was unintentionally off when it was set.) My father tried, as well. I contacted the owner, but he could not provide me with a code that worked. He asked me to wait while he tried to find someone who could come help. Me, my three young children (ages 7, 4, and 1), and my father waited on the porch for 2 hours. When it started to get dark, we had to drive to a hotel and make alternate arrangements. The owner insisted that the code worked and refused to refund my money. (The Hipcamp website was incredibly helpful with this.) I travel often and deal with all different arrangements and owners, and I was shocked at how unprofessional and incredibly condescending this owner was. I understand that mistakes happen and incorrect codes are sometimes given, but to blatantly lie and shift blame to the customer (after making us wait for 2 hours) is deplorable. I cannot speak to the quality of the glat or the experience of staying there, but I can say with confidence that you are out of luck if you have any issues during your stay.

Amenities not as advertised
Nice location but bring every thing you need. Did not supply what was advertised (no towels, dishware and cook ware were spotty)

Glat #2
Recommend Glat 2
We stayed in Glat #2. First night we didn't have hot water so that made for a cold shower after a long trip but they took care of it the next morning. Thank you Ghandi! In addition to the private shower you also have access to the park showers. In these tents (and their airstreams) you have all the necessities of a campsite without having to pitch a tent. We brought along our stove top burner and kitchen utensils such as a cutting board, knives and thongs and I'm glad we did because the ones provided were a bit worn. The park has a place to rent canoes or kayaks, many picnic areas, a couple fishing piers, a swimming area, and a 4 mile hike! We did the hike and boy was I glad we had that hot tub to soak in afterwards! All in all a great place to bring family and friends in the great outdoors. My only suggestion for our host is to add lighting around the outside sink, grill and dining area. Luckily we brought headlamps so it was easier to cook and eat outside now that the time change has us in the dark at 5pm!

Not Worth the. Oney:
When we arrived our GLAT reeked of animal pee. It was annoying that we had to reach out to get the bathroom and wifi codes and weren't sent them before arriving. I paid for a Glat to sleep 8 . They moved me to a Glat that sleeps 6 ( maybe 2 adults and 4 small children, we're 6 adults!). I wasnt offered any refund of any kind . It was t clear how far we had to walk just to unload the car, was shocked we couldn't park at our site, we were told we could only Bring 2 cars. Also claimed it had a communal hot tub .....it didn't! DEFINITELY wasn't worth the money!!!

Happy campers with a few challenges
Might just be the fall season we are in, but this is not the campsite for those weary of big spiders, wasps and cockroaches. Of course, we are asking to join them in nature by staying here but spent a LOT of time checking for buggy friends, watching cockroaches scurry over head in the cabin, wasps build nests on the porch, and just a ton a ton a ton of spider friends! By the morning, all of our furniture outside was coated in new webs. Besides that, the spot was pretty nice! Comfy bed, great AC, shower, toilet etc. Pictures are accurate. You are fairly close to neighbors, but there is a definite sense of privacy. Our dog loved have space to relax on leash outside our cabin. Before our arrival, they last minute changed us to cabin 3 without giving us a camp site number. That made a hugely awkward experience with a wonderful family after we mistakenly moved into cabin 1 (still so sorry y’all!) because only cabin 2 had a number on the cabin (and the cabins are numbered in opposite direction from the flow of traffic on the road)! Please add some cabin numbers, and if you move folks, give them the campsite number as well! Because of the confusion, the other family tried to contact the host several times while we figured out the mix up without response. Felt disappointing to not have a host response when needed. Switching from cabin 2 to 3 was disappointing as it had more relaxing furniture around the campfire and our hot tub never warmed above 91. I’d rate our stay a 3.5/5

The place itself is cool, but the check in process was unnecessarily complicated. I never received the lock or bathroom codes before check in and spent more than an hour doing all sorts of google verifications and machinations in order to contact a host. It was ridiculous and another camper who was there at the same time went through the same thing. Just send the info with the reservation info…holy cow what a pain
