Full RV hookups
Electrical, water, and sewage hookups are available at select sites.
Located at 245 Durham St in McMinnville, the property covers 8 acres with frontage on the Barren Fork River. There is river access directly behind Smooth Rapids Grill and a short walk from the campground. We sell fire wood. We have a climate controlled bathhouse on site with restrooms and hot showers. Tent sites 14,15,16,17, and 18 have regular 15 amp electrical hookups. The other tent sites are primitive. Travel Trailers and RVs will not fit in tent sites. Camper Vans or Small Pop Up Campers can use tent sites as long as the electrical consumption does not exceed 15 amps. All of RV sites have 30/50 amp electrical and water hookups. There is a dump station near the entrance to the campground for gray and black tanks. RV dump service is available for a fee if you would rather us handle that for you. Learn more about this land: There’s river frontage for fishing or kayaking. We have a full service restaurant on site. Plenty of trees for shade and hammocks. Minutes from Cumberland Caverns, Rock Island State Park, and ISHA. 50+ miles of Class 1 moving water in the county perfect for kayaking with shuttle service to access points available.

Nice little campground with dining/bar on site and Kayaki rental/shuttle service for floating the river. Would stay again, we enjoyed ourselves.

Had a great time!
We reserved site 17 but someone was already set up so we moved to 24 which was actually a better spot. Had the area all to ourselves. The restaurant was awesome! Definitely will be back.

Overall it's not a bad little get away but they could do a few improvements. One have a trash can for trash pick up at each campsite or at least a campground dumpster. The dumpster available it a little bit of a walk, also bathroom/showers were a little hike, especially at night when things are not lite up well. We had to go get a fire pit from an unoccupied site when we were told they would bring us one or just have a fire in the ground. Staff was friendly just could make a few adjustments. Just be prepared to walk for the necessities

Joke! This should not be listed as a campground it is at best the parking lot for their primary outdoor business ventures. Our designated "camping " spot was small and conveniently located in an area yes big enough to pitch a tent but located in the center of 4 parked cars lining out our campsite boundries as it also conveniently serves as their only overflow parking lot .Smooth Rapid Campground offers at best open camping with lots of foot traffic, exhaust fumes, cars coming and going and no privacy for their guests. In addition to their camp sites being poorly marked to be seen by all the parking lot of vehicles obstructing their view and after discovering our "assigned" spot we did not stay and would not recommend as a acceptable camping site..

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Spot was nit as advertised. Cars all around the spot and it was in the middle of a parking lot. There was a restaurant that you check into and then they tell you where the spot is. Covered by cars. Couldn’t use it at all. We just left. I WOULS NOT camp here!

Clean bathrooms; friendly staff
Check-in was relatively smooth—you need to go to the restaurant next door to confirm you have arrived. I camp a lot and have to say that their bathrooms are so clean and well-maintained! The best camp showers and bathhouse I've used so far during my many travels. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay. Being right along the river was pleasant and a nice way to cool off in the summer heat. Mickey was very friendly and quick to assist as needed. When we arrived, a previous camper left their trash, and he was there within minutes to pick it up and profusely apologized for the issue. My only suggestion for this campground would be that it needs to be required and enforced for dogs to be leashed. This time, I didn't bring my two dogs with me, but while staying, there were at least three larger dogs off-leash walking around the campground. They seemed friendly, but this could be dangerous for small children or for folks who are training their dogs/have reactive dogs. Otherwise, I will definitely return to this campsite next time I'm in this portion of TN!
