Futurology Farms is nestled along the Cumberland River in Central Tennessee and features seclusion, beautiful countryside vistas, bountiful river views, and wildlife. You'll find water activities on the river and hiking at the farm and state parks close by.  It has been a lifelong dream and vision for our family to have a magical place with lots of land to create an experience. The farm is brand new as of September 2020, so there's lots to do and is a work in progress with still much beautification to be done. Despite the development in progress, the farm is gorgeous and there's lots to do and explore on and around the property. The mountain farm is a passion of ours and we seek to create a space that will be self-sustaining, leave a minimal carbon footprint, and foster a culture of farm-to-table lifestyle. In addition to the environmentally conscious aspects of the long-term plans for the farm, we have dreams to craft a space that encourages and promotes the arts, both visual and performing.  Jackson County has been coined a sportsman paradise by those who know of the hidden gems this beautiful piece of Tennessee has to offer.  We are just an hour outside Nashville, 25 minutes from Cookeville and Livingston, 20 minutes from Dale Hollow Lake, and 9 parks with hikes and waterfalls within 45 minutes.  We have 3 boat launches right on the Cumberland River within 3 miles. You can hike, swim, kayak, canoe, jetski, boat, or float on the river. There are several marinas within 30 minutes.  It's important to know that this is a raw and challenging terrain. It's a mountain or some may say a hill. We call it a mountain because of the rock bluffs, cliffs, and dramatic nature of this spot. As such, there are cliffs you could fall off, trails that are difficult and dangerous at times depending on your hiking skill level. These are for the adventurous type and use is at your own risk. This property has a magical feel and really allows you to connect with nature in a peaceful, beautiful, and serene place.  We are proud to be the guardians and caretakers of this beautiful land and we hope you enjoy it too. :)

Top of the mountain
Fantastic hosts that generously share their land. Beautiful scenery with signs of renewable resources all around. The smell of red & white cedar trees carried by the breeze. A truly one of a kind experience.

Beautiful views & amazing hosts!
We really enjoyed the campsite and property! Our hosts were very kind and went above and beyond - from providing firewood to stopping by with s’mores supplies on our first night! They also upgraded us to a premium campsite at no charge. The area has great views, is secluded, and only about 90 mins from Nashville. The outhouse is clean and there’s also an outdoor shower with warm water. We can’t recommend this spot enough!

This is such a great area. The landscape looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale. I was very impressed. Hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even made us a personalized camping sign to keep. We arrived after dark and they met us at the campsite and upgraded our spot. I look forward to returning once all of the leaves have fallen.

Camping paradise Up on the ridge
I am already planning to return to Futurology. This campsite and property was encased in a luscious "on top of the world" feeling when seeing the Cumberland river stretch for what looks like miles down below. Summertime and a long gentle rain welcomed me and my little footprint of a single tent. This will make a fun getaway with 1-3 more friends/family in the future as the overlook pointe has a sweet campfire set up with these "star gazing" chairs built by the owners. There was a solar powered string of outdoor lights that come on as well for some ambiance. I was given a last minute upgrade to the Cedar Pointe camping platform due to my misunderstanding that Mimosa campsite had a platform, it was raining and Cedar Pte was available, but I checked out the Mimosa site and it is totally cozy campsite and perfect for a tent on the ground. Cedar pointe platform didn't have an easy spot to tether the points of my rainfly to make it taute and better to withstand the rain from seeping into the actual tent. However, a heavy cinderblock was available for me to use to pin down the rainfly's vestibule cover. Luckily, the rain was light enough and my tent was brand new that very little rain and morning condensation seeped into my cozy cacoon of a tent. I love earthy-ness and simplicity. FF has this nicely crafted compost toilet outhouse or "the Lucky Loo" AND a water-heated outdoor shower! So fun to get cleaned up in a warmed shower under the canopy of trees. I will be back!
