Farnese Olivo is a family hobby farm set on 5 acres overlooking the Coal River Valley in Acton Park, just 15 minutes from Hobart CBD. The Duck Hole is a historic farm dam offering a quiet rural experience. COMPLIMENTARY INCLUSIONS: All campers have free access to: - potable drinking water - shower (open air, cold only) - bring bathers. Great in summer, only for the brave in winter! - rubbish bins - fire pit - firewood (provided for free, for use in the fire pit) - cast iron bbq plate and skillets for cooking in the fire pit - picnic table and chairs overlooking the dam - dam side hammock The property was established in the early 1980s on the site of one of Hobarts oldest farms (the original house built in 1826 still stands as a beautiful family home 2 doors up on our street). The old dairy still stands as visitor accomodation opposite the front of our property offering a glimpse of farm life from the past 200 years. A tradition we maintain today with having a sustainable orchard with just over 100 trees. Seasonal Fresh produce is available to purchase. We are home to three friendly hand reared sheep - Daisy, Frank and Bill who love pats and food. Muscovy and Indian Runner Ducks, Chickens and many native birds. Overlooking the historic dam there is a shared fire pit with firewood supplied complimentary. We ask that on days of total fire ban, this is respected. We can only accept self-contained campers, so you will need to have your own camp toilet. There is a dump point within 6km, located in Cambridge Park for those with their own toilet. Public toilet and showers are located close by at Seven Mile Beach and Roches Beach (both about 5 mins drive) Some minor leveling may be required. The sheep pen and duck hole sites are pretty much flat. As we have farm animals, you will get to hear our sheep and ducks enjoying their environment. However, it is very quiet of an evening/night. We love meeting new people and are passionate about our property we can’t wait to share it with you and your family! Check in MUST be between 12pm and 8pm due to safety.

The Duck Hole
We had a wonderful time at both the Duckhole and Sheep Pen sites. Kimberly and Josh were very welcoming, making our stay even more pleasant. They have such a beautiful property, we loved spending time in the communal area watching the sheep and ducks. Definitely recommend

The Duck Hole
Beautiful camp near Hobart
Camping at Kimberley and Josh’s property was a great experience , welcoming and friendly hosts , district views over the quiet camp spot at Duck Hole dam ., and some free duck eggs thrown in. What more could you ask for ! It’s an easy drive into Hobart from here . There are other shops at nearby Cambridge and Sorell for restocking. Highly recommended.

The Duck Hole
The perfect place to relax and switch off! This was our very first night ever in a camper van, hosts were very helpful and super friendly. Such a beautiful space to be in. Feeding the sheep was a highlight for the kids and they loved watching the ducklings swimming in the dam. Just perfect!
