Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions. There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flat firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning. The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition. Firewood is available at $15 per bag.Site marked "A" covers several acres and has ocean views to the East. The ground is level and firm of native grass over a stone base. To the East the ground gently slopes down to the swimming hole where there is a small jetty, sheltered enclosure and stone barbecue. There is also a fire pit that can be used when regulations allow. Caravans can locate closer to the water hole but not on the grassed area between the Jetty and sheltered enclosure.

Great spot, lovely location by the dam. Loved being off grid for a couple of nights combined with a cosy camp fire.

Peaceful and relaxing

Peaceful, relaxing and so close to Bicheno. Tim is a great host, checked in on us and then left us to it, which we appreciated. The dam would be great in the warmer months to swim, SUP of kayak. If you have kids be sure to explore and find the island with a little fort.

One of the best!

Host Tim has created a paradise for those who love the peace and serenity of nature. Tucked away 10 minutes behind Bicheno, it’s easily accessible by a 2wd motorhome of just about any size. Neither farmland or bush, Tim has created 2 almost park-like areas, the best of which (in our opinion) is down by the lagoon amongst the trees. There is a covered patio area, BBQ and fire pits scattered around. This is a haven for self-contained campers only - bring what you need, leave nothing behind - and enjoy the sounds of the wild life and the wind in the trees.

One of the best!

Tim’s property has two locations with plenty of room and easy access for 2wd vehicles, including the 7m motorhome we were travelling in. The ridge top has distant views of the ocean, but the best area is down by the lagoon. This is a place for the fully self-sufficient traveller who desires and respects peace and serenity. Not just another farm paddock, Tim’s piece of paradise has been selectively improved for his own and his guests enjoyment. For those of us who want to “get away from it all”, it really is one of the best.

Peaceful

I had the whole place to myself. Very peaceful. Very quiet. Was greeted by Tim on arrival. Very welcoming. Directions were spot on I just didn't take the time to read them properly. Awesome spot. Close to Douglas Apsley national park and Bicheno. I'm sure I will be back one day . Cheers

Beautiful property, great location

Beautiful, well maintained property in a great location just a couple of minutes out of Bicheno. We loved the tranquility, natural bushland and abundance of wildlife. Tim and Suria are wonderful hosts, we will be back for sure!
