Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We are a family-owned vineyard tucked into the tiny town of Rowella, with 5.5 hectares under vine. We're offering a tranquil spot amongst the vines for self-contained campers, where you can sit back, enjoy a sunset, and soak up the serenity and views. We are Julieanne and Ashli, a hard-working mother/daughter duo growing 8 varieties of grapes to produce excellent cool-climate wines. During your stay, you are welcome to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting in our century-old cottage. You can also purchase a bottle or two to savor on your trip. The property is conveniently located just 40 minutes North of Launceston, and within close proximity (less than 10 minutes walk) to three excellent Tamar Valley cellar doors, the Lavender House Perfumery, and Rowella Cherry Farm. Just 20 minutes away is the Platypus House, Seahorse World, Beaconsfield (Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Center), and Beauty Point, and we're 30 minutes from Narawntapu National Park entrance and beautiful Green's Beach. Across the river, you can take in a little history at George Town and Low Head.We offer three lovely areas amongst the vines for you to tuck into with your camper trailer or caravan and enjoy a peaceful few days of rest and/or exploration - with glorious views and surrounds. All campers MUST BE self-contained as we don't provide toilets or power. We do not allow tents (shower and toilet tents included). Pets are welcome but please keep them under control and on a lead at all times. This is a safe basecamp to explore the area, plus you have the added bonus of complimentary wine tasting and a cellar door with lovely local wines literally at your caravan door!

Lovely view over the vines and we were warmly welcomed by Ashli! Easy to park the van and enjoyed the beautiful wines at the cellar door and were given a generous discount as well! (A few bottles found their way back to our van..😉) Super convenient location and will return for sure!

What a great location. Staying in the vineyard close to other vineyards and to Launceston. Had a great last night before sailing back. Free tastings from the exceptional hosts Julieanne and Ashly

Camp by the vines, enjoy the views!
The caravan pulls into the front of the vineyard, between the road and the vines. A more idyllic location would be further off the roadside, but it is comfortable there. Of course the opportunity to walk to the wine tasting cellar beacons and it is easy then, to carry the purchased wines back to the van for safe keeping. The ground undulates a little so a pure road caravan might dig into the grass. A semi off-road van is fine though. Julieanne's daughter, Ashli, also greeted us and provided brochures on local attractions and a discount voucher for the cellar door. Notably, Ashli has produced her own wines and they are recognised by wine shows. We recognised them by drinking them! Cheers
