When you lay your head on our property you will be laying your head on Cherokee land. The property is at the meeting place of five soperate trails of the Cherokee, which is why it is called Trail Rd. Across the street you may pull water from the old well which has recently been restored. Craytonville is the town that grew up around the well, and used to be the stomping grounds of John C. Calhoune and for many years was believed to be the place where Abraham Lincoln's parents met. This was believed until 2015 when DNA disproved the rumor, but still the rumor is absolutely fascinating! South Carolina recently named the campsite property as a historical landmark. So, bring the metal detectors! You may find an arrowhead!
