Our whole property is 65 acres situated just a few minutes’ drive north from Kapunda, the oldest mining town in Australia which is on the edge of the beautiful Barossa. We are accessible only by a quiet country road and have no neighbours close by. Our land was once part of the famous Anlaby Station settled 1839. The homestead and adjoining large barn were built in the 1860's from rock sourced in the area . Our property is now a working hobby farm with a small herd of cattle and sheep and a few horses. The occasional Kangaroo, possum or cheeky fox may also be seen. The camping grounds area is approx. 5 acres offering 5 spaces amongst beautiful gums and alongside a natural wet weather creek which is exciting to watch flow after the rains or fun to explore during the dry. Our dam is only wet weather and also offers that natural country element. An added unique aspect we have is a historic marble quarry that we are transforming into an entertainment venue. The marble from our quarry was in action in the 1880's and the marble was used to build The Houses of Parliament in Adelaide. During your stay you may get to join us to do some of the farming activities if appropriate and attend any public function that may be on in the “Rockwood” quarry during your stay. Walking the land is allowed so long as the livestock are not disturbed. The dirt roads on our boundaries make for a peaceful walk as well as there is not a great deal of traffic. We are lucky to have our "local" a pub "The Wheatsheaf" that serves a great pub meal and has that country pub charm, this will take all of 2 mins to drive to. All campers need to be self-contained, as we don't offer toilets. So please have a camp toilet with you, and take all waste when you leave. Campfires are permitted when conditions are ok, and when fire bans are not in place.

We had such a lovely stay over the long weekend. We set up camp right in the top corner of Catherine and Simon’s beautiful property and enjoyed a few days of peace and quiet in our secluded area. Catherine and Simon were very friendly and came to check on us when we first arrived to make sure we were comfortable (and very generously lended us some camping lights as we accidentally left ours at home, thanks again guys!). Added bonus of having some inquisitive cows and sheep roaming the property who also came to say hello. Thanks for a great stay guys, we will be back!

As a Family of four we had a lot of fun. We got to camp in the old quarry which the kids absolutely loved. We also got to help feed the cows and walked around the property which was very fun.The kids loved that there were a whole bunch of baby calf’s around. Catherine was very accommodating and was great to chat to on a variety of subjects. It is also the perfect spot to search the whole Barossa, I would say an ideal location if you like camping and also love wine regions. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

A very quiet and tranquil place to spend the long weekend. Catherine was a very welcoming host. Very friendly cows that like to get up close. Stars are never ending on a clear night. Nearby to Kapunda for those that want to take in some history or head out for a bite. Would definitely recommend.
