Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Perfectly flat property surrounded by a line of Gumtrees and panoramic views of vineyards, rolling hills and sunsets. The camping areas are southwest facing so perfect for that warm afternoon sun. We are 5 min drive from the beautiful Fleurieu Coast line consisting of Pt Willunga and Silver Sands. Aldinga beach shopping centre and a 24hour petrol station are all just around the corner. Last but not least we are a stone throw away from all of the great Mclaren Vale wineries and historic Willunga Main Street.Sites are south west facing, this is to capture the best view. We also have a roadside area on the north eastern side of block. The south western sites have a wonderful view of both rolling hills and vineyards. Land is very flat so minimal levelling. Camp fires are seasonal dependent. Our location is very close to the Fleurieu coastline and shops are just a short drive into Aldinga. For a 24 hour service there is a OTR service station minutes away which have a good variety of supplies. Historical Willunga is also just 10minutes away heading east on Aldinga road. We are on the Wine Coast, so Cellar Doors, Pizza and great coffee are all just around the corner.

Sites are quite close to the road and the aerodrome, but it was kinda nice seeing the planes fly around over and at weekends the road is pretty quiet Megan welcomed us on arrival, as did their dog Summit and from then they left us to enjoy our stay, which we did Great sunsets, beautiful view over vineyards and Fleurieu Hills Firewood and fire pits provided 3 mins from old Aldinga township which is home to some great little eateries and Kickback Brewery All in all a great place dor our maiden voyage

I stayed one night at Plains Road and kind of want to keep the secret to myself. 😄 I was the only one there on a Thursday night and set up in the far corner, away from the road. The views of the hills, vines and sunset are simply stunning and it is so conveniently located close to brewery, restaurant, wineries and the beach. The owners are very friendly and whilst you are staying close to their house in their backyard, it feels private and welcoming.

Camping around grapevines at sunset
The view of the grapevines at sunset was amazing. Its a quiet place that has the countryside feel, but close enough to Aldinga and the shops etc to acesss your needs, or go to the beach. The people we met that were pet sitting for Gareth, were friendly and talkative when we met but left us to enjoy the property. We had our tent perfectly positioned to watch the sunrise in the morning over more grapevines.

We had an enjoyable stay, a nice outlook and plenty of space. Very convenient to the beach and Aldinga township 👍
