Dallas Hills Farm is located right among the picturesque Mount Crawford Forest which is renown for its abundance of walking and hiking trails, horse riding and mountain biking trails and wildlife such as Kangaroos, Emus, Deer and much more. We are horse and pet friendly, as we believe no family member should miss out on the fun of a family getaway! For horse enthusiasts who wish to bring their best friend on holiday, we have overnight yards available for hire for an additional fee of $10 per horse per night (all required feed to be provided by camper/owner, water and wash down is complimentary). Float parking is available separate to your campsite at no additional cost. Please be aware yards are not electrified. There are endless trails right at our doorstep to explore with your best friend, just ask if you want any recommendations for local trail options from the owner! Located in South Australia's iconic Barossa Valley wine region, and bordering the Adelaide Hills tourist region, we are a short drive to a host of award winning wineries, distilleries and gourmet food offerings. The host can provide a list of recommended locations if wanting to explore the region. Dallas Hills Farm is a 20 acre working equine property and also hosts several small animals such as sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. As we are a working horse property, if the owners are riding on the arena, campers are very welcome to sit arena-side and enjoy a drink while watching the horses go by. The property offers stunning scenery with expansive views of the forest and rolling gum studded hills. The dedicated camping paddock guarantees you will be the only group in your paddock! That's total privacy for you and your family and pets. (Please be advised that we do not currently offer waterside camping). Watch this space for 2023 glamping options! The paddock offers running water of which you can help yourself from the nearby tap. If you need a portable camping toilet, please make sure you book the listing WITH the toilet, and not the self-sufficient listing. Any questions, please ask. We have one 4 person tent available for hire if required, as well as other small items you may need. Browse our selection of optional add-on's to ensure a wonderful stay. Dogs and small pets are welcome if kept on lead while outside due to livestock nearby. Small campfires are permitted within the rules of fire ban for the Mount Lofty region. Firewood can be provided for a fee if arranged upon booking. The Para Wirra Reservoir is a short 5km drive from Dallas Hills Farm and offers ample fishing locations, a kayak/canoe launching platform and equipment hire such as e-bikes and kayaks through Barossa Outdoors. Campers wishing to add a gourmet picnic basket to their experience can do so by contacting the host to arrange it. There are endless picnic locations both on and off property for those happy to walk and explore in search of that perfect location. Picnics can be provided in traditional baskets or hiking-friendly backpacks depending on the camper's request and locally-produced wines can be added for that special touch. Please make sure to click on the 'extras' link or contact Elise to arrange hampers and rental items. We hope you enjoy your stay!

Horse friendly camping
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was just beautiful, very relaxing and beautiful countryside. Our host Elise and her husband Chris were very welcoming and I also learnt a little bit about horses that I didn’t know. We also got some free range eggs which were amazing and Elise has a lovely fire set for us which just made the night. Would highly recommend.
