This 20 acre working property is dedicated to our horses, dogs, birds and relaxing! We have recently moved to 19D Cockatoo Valley so it's just the beginning. You are welcome to wander into the big paddock and get a close up view of the big Solar tracking system that services the property. It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails and continue on to explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras. The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one. Your relaxed property walk will take you past paddocked sheep (they may run up to you if they think you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas Sebastion and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock. There are horses, Dallas the mule (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the dam, as well as our ducks and geese if they are out of their enclosure that day. There are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it! We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed. Small amount of bread or preferably small chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! Feel free to give them any food scraps you might have. We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too.Dallas, our mule is always up for a bit of attention and any apples or carrots you might like to share with him and is close to this site. Dallas is rather special as his dad is a "mammoth donkey" who has been imported from America. His mum is a stunning thoroughbred. Mammoth donkeys are a bigger/taller breed of donkey than Australian donkeys are. They are beginning to be used up north on stations instead of horses as mules are sturdier, more sure footed, not as flighty as horses so safer for stock men and women to use working with cattle. They can live into their late 30,s so have a longer working life as well. Dallas was born in 2023 Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season. The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it ....before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet. It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails. Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property. Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away. Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat. We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options! Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works. Like to kayak? Well a short drive will take you to spectacular opportunities to do so. Hire is also available at the site at different times of the year. Love exploring by bike? You are at the heartland of multiple trails you can access too. Local bike hire options are available too. As you can see, you have plenty of options to tailor your stay to suit the type of experience you are after. Tree lined Valley Site 6
Lovely property, and our little one loved the animals! Hosts were very polite and welcoming, while being respectful of our privacy. Our campsite (tree line valley site) was easily accessible, had trees for privacy and shade, and a table and chairs supplied which was great! The site was also great for camping with a few people/tents. Toilet was a short walk and easily accessible. We did think the site was going to be more secluded based on the write up, but in saying that it felt private. The site was surrounded by horse paddocks which can be accessed by people to feed/exercise the horses, we only saw one other person who respectfully kept their distance and waved hello. The horse paddocks also had electric fences surrounding them, this wasn't a problem for us, but something to be mindful of if you have children with you. The other campsites we did notice weren't quote as private as they were next to each other and lined the property driveway, they were however all well kept and had tables and seating for use. We really enjoyed our stay here, it gave us a quiet place to camp with family and a country feel without being too far away, and visiting the animals was a bonus!

Had a wonderful time staying at the farm, really quite a peaceful place. My daughter loved all the animals especially the Alpacas. Hope to stay again when in the area! We stayed on site 2 which is very spacious and tidy!

Site 2
We stayed at Cheryl’s for the night in our camper trailer. The site was very spacious, provided ample shade and had a lovely sunset view across the paddock! Graham and Cheryl were very accomodating and showed us around their farm. Our 2 year old loved seeing all of the animals and feeding the horses. We would definitely recommend a stay at Cheryl’s for a relaxing night away :)

Lovely farm! The kids loved walking around the farm and playing with the animals. Nice campfire and great views from site 3. Can get windy, but the tents did the job.

Site 7 Solar System Site
Beautiful and relaxing stay!
Everything about our experience at Covkatoo Valley was wonderful. Cheryl was so responsive and helpful through every interaction to book and arrange our visit. We ended up staying in site 6 down the hill and amongst the trees, sheep and horses. Beautiful! Graham was outstanding with ensuring we had everything we needed, and was always checking in to see how our stay was going. Even helped me tow our camper trailer back up the hill when we left! I highly recommend this lovely pocket of SA to anyone. That includes Cheryl and Graham as hosts of course!
