We operate a small horse farm in Gawler, around an hours north of Adelaide. I am a vet student and my husband works from home, and we have a young family. I run a small equine trimming and bodywork and rehab business. We enjoyed Hipcamp while travelling the USA, so are excited to now be Hosts and return the favour! Our property is horse friendly, dog-friendly and family-friendly! It's close to Gawler, the gateway to the Barossa and Clare Valley, with their many bike paths. We're an easy short trip off the highway, with great dining and wineries within 30 min or less in all directions. The property makes for a great, secure base camp to explore the region. We offer two sites at this time, both with a shed like shelter you can park your camper/pitch a tent under. One site has a slightly lower shelter, suitable for vans such as combies and fords (but not caravans and higher vehicles). This site has gas hot water, lights and a concrete slab. The other site has a higher shelter, and lights, it's suitable for caravans, however, does not have hot water, so requires you to be completely self-contained. Neither site offers a toilet at this time, so you'll need to bring a toilet with you, and take all waste when you leave. Travelling with your horse? We have three overnight stallion-proof yards available, and a horse wash-bay. You can book a yard in the 'Extras' section at time of booking. Whether you're travelling to an event, looking to break a long journey or simply wanting to rest up for a few days with your horse, you're most welcome. Other pets are welcome also, however must be kept on a lead at all times, as we have cats and chickens. Please note, while we welcome families and groups, our property is a place for rest, relaxing and enjoying the great outdoors. It is not a place for parties.
