Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp is located 15 minutes from Maleny in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features 3 private sites in a spectacular bush setting (and more are coming!). We welcome small groups and their pets and cater to couples and small groups looking for a secluded weekend away. There is a two night minimum. A MINIMUM OF AWD VEHICLE IS NEEDED JUST TO GET ONTO THE PROPERTY. THERE IS NO WHERE TO PARK VEHICLES THAT CANNOT REACH THE SITE. Please take the track descriptions seriously. We're not embellishing just to discourage inexperienced 4WDers. These are NO JOKE. Gumtree Summit and The Gun Range are up a steep and rocky track that require techincal driving skills and a capable vehicle. These sites are very difficult to access in wet weather. You need to know what you are doing. When booking, ensure you reach each site description thoroughly and send us a message answering the vehicle capability questions prior to requesting a booking. Fuzzy miniature galloway cattle freely roam the property here. If you are not camping at the Summit sites, where they don't tend to go, you may see us driving around in our side-by-side given them lots of treats and cuddles. Other than that, our hope is that you don't see anyone but the local wildlife.

Perfect adventure in nature
I had an incredible weekend stay at The Summit. The track leading up is pretty gnarly, so it’s a must to check with the hosts to see if your car can handle it. Be sure to send a text to the hosts on the day of your arrival and call Jeremy & Charmaine when you reach the gate. Don’t forget to let down your tires at the entrance gate and, crucially, make sure no cows slip in or out before you close the gate behind you! Once you reach The Summit, you’ll be rewarded with a mind-blowing view that’s as peaceful as it is breathtaking. The beautifully handcrafted bench and fireplace are standout features. There’s also water for doing the dishes and a loo with a view, adding extra convenience to the stay.

It is a perfect place to camp and get away from civilisation for a few nights up in the mountains, absolutely loved it out there, will definitely be back there 👌

Best camp spot we’ve been to so far off Hipcamp and we’ve been to quite a few now! So secluded and private but so much to look at and do, the owners were so lovely and helpful, the miniature Galloway cows that were so friendly that was definitely a highlight for us, it was worth the 3 hour drive, we can’t wait to go back 🥰 please make sure you read the description for your camp site, it’s quite a rough track so you do need experience and a suitable vehicle, but we will definitely be back, make sure you don’t miss this one! Absolutely stunning.
