Gallop in! Some sites cater to Hipcampers on horseback.
Welcoming you to our 100 acre horse property nestled in the Glasshouse Mountains, with a creek and a lake. Featuring a mix of pine and natural forest, this off grid campsite has a lovely flat space for camping. Drinking water and toilet amenities are available, and we welcome well behaved dogs on leashes as well as a place to stay for your beloved horse (please note an additional horse facility fee will be charged). *While we don't have water hookups, we can fill water tanks. 🐴***We also offer a variety of horse riding experiences that can be selected and added to your booking at checkout***🐴 The Glass House Mountains are found in the hinterland of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. They are about a one-hour drive south of the Sunshine Coast's main hub, Noosa, or an hour north of the state's capital city, Brisbane. The region is a natural playground of walking tracks, horse trails and abseiling locations, the mountains are also home to six small townships, linked by rail and country roads. Please note there is highway noise at this site.

On our arrival Michael told us the toilet was not functioning and the plumber had not come to fix it yet so we decided not to stay the night. Michael kindly organised our refund.

Site 10 - Wild Horse Retreat
Overall we enjoyed our stay but the address was hard to find in the dark. We drove in and started to reverse as it appeared to be someone's backyard. Michael waved us in and took us through to the back of the property to the creek and lake, which are pretty. The noise from the motorway didn't bother us and it is well located for the Glasshouse Mountain activities. Felt the old abandoned hydroponic equipment should be removed to make it less of an eyesore.

Unfortunately the experience wasn't what we expected. The entry to the property is very untidy with minimal upkeep. There was no clear direction of where to go to the camp sites. Sam the dog showed us the way. Michael the host wasn't around when we arrived and was less than polite and accused us of trespassing because we hadn't checked in. Being new to hip camps we were unaware of the process and there was no directions regarding checking in on our booking confirmation. The camp ground was very uneven making it difficult to level our caravans. The road traffic noise was horrendous keeping us up at night. The lake view was lovely and Michael did apologise for his abrupt welcome.
