Welcoming you to our 100 acre horse property nestled in the Glasshouse Mountains, with a creek and a lake. Featuring a mix of pine and natural forest, this off grid campsite has a lovely flat space for camping. Drinking water and toilet amenities are available, and we welcome well behaved dogs on leashes as well as a place to stay for your beloved horse (please note an additional horse facility fee will be charged). *While we don't have water hookups, we can fill water tanks. 🐴***We also offer a variety of horse riding experiences that can be selected and added to your booking at checkout***🐴 The Glass House Mountains are found in the hinterland of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. They are about a one-hour drive south of the Sunshine Coast's main hub, Noosa, or an hour north of the state's capital city, Brisbane. The region is a natural playground of walking tracks, horse trails and abseiling locations, the mountains are also home to six small townships, linked by rail and country roads. Please note there is highway noise at this site.

Site 6 - Wild Horse Retreat
Spent the night in our van on our way to Sunshine Coast. Site 6 was amazing!! Michael was such a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. The property is gorgeous and having the beautiful horses and cows roam around us freely was surreal. Huge highlight having Sam the dog looking after us and guiding us in and out of the property. Definitely recommend this place for a lovely peaceful getaway. Thank you Michael and Sam. We will be back!!

Site 1 - Wild Horse Retreat
Nice place but not pet friendly
While the campsite is nice and has an old quarry to swim in, we were really disappointed in the attitude of the host. His dog was off leash the whole time and was hanging around our camp completely unsupervised. We had an unvaccinated puppy, and when we asked if the host’s dog was vaccinated he berated us and made it very clear that he didn’t believe in vaccines and that we should ignore the vet’s advice to avoid contact with other unvaccinated dogs. When we asked if he’d be happy to prevent his dog from coming near our puppy he refused and was very offended that we even asked. This whole interaction made us very uncomfortable.

Site 6 - Wild Horse Retreat
We had a great stay at Wild Horse Retreat. We camped by the lake and had the entire place to ourselves except for the horses, cows and doggo that frequently came to visit. The place was fantastic and Micheal was really laid back. Great place.

Michael was extremely welcoming and showed us hospitality; we had an issue with our car, and he made sure we were okay! We loved walking around his area of land, looking at all the horses and cows too.

Michael was nice he greeted me and checked on me. I do feel it was a little pricey! Compared to some others that were cheaper with more amenities. I enjoyed myself met a lovely lady also staying there
