Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Wes's Camping Grounds is located on the Canal Creek. We have many different sites to choose from, either right beside the creek, amongst the trees or in the open paddock if you need to charge your solar. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is something for everyone here at Wes's Camping grounds. With several deep water holes on the property that are home to many fish species just waiting to be caught like yellowbelly, jew and carp. Imagine sitting, relaxing beside the creek while the kids are playing football or swimming just up stream. Bring your pushbikes or even a kayak and paddle up and down the creek. The kids will love to explore the property and shallow rock pools or even swim in the deeper water. Or just simply sit back and relax by the fire side and enjoy the serenity. We are close to Leyburn township with a general store and takeaway shop and of course like most little country towns a fabulous little pub providing a home cooked meal and cold refreshing drinks. Pets welcome. Are you looking for somewhere to stay for the Historical Leyburn Sprints held in August? Then look no further, we still have vacancies. Wes's Camping Ground
Nice big open space, plenty of afternoon shade, had the whole place to ourselves. So was very peaceful. Our dogs loved swimming the whole weekend in the canal. Host was very friendly.

Wes's Camping Ground
Decent flat ground to camp on, dogs are friendly but would not leave us alone, only stayed one night and sadly was a night that every part of nature wanted to be noisy and people were hunting across the river but other than that enjoyed the overnight camp and will hopefully be out there again soon

CAMPING AREA GROUND REASONABLE MOWED AND FLAT. HOWEVER NORMAL COST $15 PD SPRINT WEEK END $30PD NO BINS . WAS ADVERTISE AS WALK DISTANCE TO TRACK SIDE ACTUALLY OVER 2.5KLMS. WOULD NOT CLASS AS WALKING DISTANCE ESPECIALLY RETURNING AFTER SUN SET DOWN DIRT ROAD. ONE CAMPER ARRIVED BOOKED TWO DAYS WAS IMFORMED ONLY ONE CAMP SITE LEFT ON ARRIVIAL REALIZE DISTANCE FROM EVENT LEFT NEVER RETURNED . WE WERE THE ONLY CAMPERS. IF THE INFORMATION WAS CORRECT ON HI-CAMP WEB SITE WE WOULD HAVE HAD THE OPTION TO INVESTIGATE CAMPING CLOSER TO EVENT.

Peaceful
Lovely level quiet spot. Plenty of kangaroos wallabies and birdlife. We never met the host Robert all weekend. Near impossible to kayak or swim due to low water levels and a steep bank. Was still good for fishing. Will visit again.

Wes's Camping Ground
It was a nice open area far enough away from the road to not cause any noise, open field where kangaroos came in on dusk , and where families can let the kids have fun riding a bike, playing cricket, football or even fly a kite! The camp areas have there own fire pit where a selection of wood was to make a nice fire to sit by and watch all the bird life overlooking the creek! Host came down and introduced himself and was very friendly.
