In a quiet and private bush block at the end of a cul-de-sac lies a levelled flat space situated across the road from the river at 1770. You'll be sitting amongst the Australian bush with a white sandy river only a hop, jump and skip away. Walking tracks that meander through a scenic reserve to a headland with beautiful bay and ocean views are at your doorstep. There's space for a camper / tent / small caravan and car and if the tinny or boat doesn't fit there's often designated car parking spaces available on the road. Our neighbours enjoy a peaceful and quiet space and we ask all our guests to help respectfully maintain this. You're towing set up needs to be quite compact - under 12m combined to allow for a tight dog leg turn into the levelled campsite which is accessed by reversing down a steepish (but short) concrete and gravel driveway, for this reason we think a 4WD or AWD vehicle is best suited for this site. But for perspective if you are just tenting we have a RAV4 which has no problems accessing the camp site. The camping area is a flat gravelled surface (we recommend wearing shoes around the campsite) in a quintessential Australian bush setting. Private and peaceful and in close proximity to Round Hill Creek. On a second level down a small bank there is a firepit space, previous stairs that were cut into the bank have washed away so you'll either need to be fairly nimble to walk up and down or you can just as easily walk around to this level. We have no facilities so you'll need to bring everything with you - toilet / water / firewood / etc and you'll need to take everything home with you including your rubbish. So if you have a self sufficient set up and enjoy a quiet and private space away from the hustle and bustle of busy parks and campgrounds then this will be the perfect spot for you to enjoy. Set up and stay put exploring the creek, nearby bush walks and beautiful headlands or use as home base for your adventures.

Great spot. Perfect location and very secluded. We got our RV down on the pad quite easily and reversed it back up. Close to lovely walks and ocean.

The site is nice and close to the gorgeous peninsula however, for the price it was a bit of a disappointment considering small size, no amenities and proximity to the main road.

One of the more unique camp spots but a hundred times better than being cattle herded into the nearby caravan park, exit a bit of a challenge in a heavy 2 wheel drive Motorhome, but the camp spot is great location all to yourself.

Residential Camp Site
This site wasn’t what we expected, however, after initial reservations on setting up, we enjoyed a quiet and private night. The road traffic was really loud in the afternoon. This road was 50m away below us and the only road to the headland, so a constant flow of traffic heading uphill. All was quiet though once the sun set which was a relief 😊 We had a perfect stay and despite being residential no neighbours in view. Leaving was a challenge as we are a 7m fixed axle sprinter ( non towing). Turning around to drive out wasn’t an option as with the length of the van and turning area available and on a slope, this just wasn’t doable. Just things to consider if you are booking. Tanya was available and responded to concerns quickly. The initial photo that appears on WikiCamps is a beautiful beach sunset which we misinterpreted as being perhaps a view from the camp site, this is not so. The second photo once booking is a true photo of the site, however, it’s easy to misinterpret these photos as being your site view and vista view. 1770 certainly a beautiful place to visit and loved our stay in this town.

Cute little campsite very close to the river. Arrived to find some sticks and a fire lighter set up in the fire pit for us which was a really nice touch

Great location, private and close to everything 1770 has to offer. Very steep driveway, not suitable for mid sized to larger caravans. We got our van in ok, but it was challenging.
