4WD access required, sand track. Welcome to Riverside, a brand new campsite for that traditional style campground experience. Heaps of space, surrounded by nature, while still a stone's throw from civilization, come and see the beauty of this incredible natural environment for yourself. We have river access and our own private river beach (beautiful sandbar) at low tide, great for paddling, bird watching or fishing. Views to Fraser Island, large flat grass fields, freshwater dams and national park forests to explore. Because we are surrounded by wilderness and on the river, depending on the weather, wind, tide and particularly during the warmer months, insects and bugs may also be present. Please be aware and bring insect spray or protective clothing to suit your visit. Pet-friendly. Flushing toilet & hot showers. Bags of firewood, ice and bait for fishing all sold on site. Campfires allowed unless fire restrictions are in place.

Daniel was very informative about the area and welcoming. We were impressed with the work done around the property, signs, and the toilets and showers were spotless. We thought the firepits were amazing with the cut holes creating excellent fire for cooking and keeping warm! We will be making our own firepit for home!

Great place to stay!
Great place to stay, lovely large open grassed area, not camped on top of each other!!! A huge plus for us. We were greeted and guided by Daniel who was welcoming and open to concerns of sand flies given the proximity to the sea. We however used our bug spray and had no issues. Loved the showers and pebble entries. Would only recommend a little more shelter and solid walkways around the amenity block for when it’s raining, as it was when we camped. The road in is definitely 4wd only as it’s a sand track and was soft in a couple of spots. Hubby had a ball towing the camper through and managed easily.

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. We were lucky there wasn’t really anyone there. Heaps of space to camp. Toilets and showers are a little bit of a walk but hey who doesn’t like a little bit of exercise. You can launch your boat in at high tide which is a bonus. Showers are $1 for 4 minutes and it is also pet friendly. It was quiet windy so we didn’t get any sandflies or mosquitoes until the last morning we were leaving. Make sure to bring your repellant though because you might get eaten alive if there is no wind. Fire pits and you can buy bags of wood for $10 and fresh chicken eggs for $6.
