Riverbend lagoon
Fantastic site
As someone else said I almost want to tell others here, that this is a horrible place, but the truth is, it's brilliant. Vanessa and Errol met us and we're very welcoming. Errol is a real character with great knowledge of the history of the property and area. Make sure you have a chat. Vanessa encouraged us to kick back relax and choose our spot. We took our bus and 3 dogs down to the lagoon, where I (Doug) enjoyed quite a few skinny dips. Something I love doing as it is so freeing for the mind. Our dogs remained off lead the three days and didn't bother the beautiful horses that roam their home freely. We had a couple of ripper fires in the stone fire rings with wood which Errol brought down to us for free. Thanks Errol. The two roads bordering the property can be a bit busy during the day, but quiten down late afternoon. The daytime noise was very minimal and didn't impact us at all. There is more beauty on the other side of the property which borders the Mary River. Vanessa told us to check out the riverside walk, but we decided to leave that for next time, because this is definitely one of our top favourites now. Woolgoolga is quite close with a nice cafe and other attractions. 1 hr drive is Hervey Bay, and off course you pass thru Maryborough to get there. Plenty to see in both towns. We will be back for sure. If you visit please respect the property and leave it pristine for others to enjoy.

A great camp at Riverbend on Mary! We stayed on a flat grassy site near the lagoon & couldn’t have been happier. The vast open star filled sky at night was a highlight, as was the refreshing swim in the lagoon & the symphony of birdsong in the mornings. We enjoyed our chats with Errol, a real character who had lots of info to offer & Ian, who showed us around the property so we knew where to access the river. A most enjoyable time!

Such a beautiful spot here. Errol, Ian and a bunch of beautiful horses welcomed us to the property. They offered us firewood, kayaks and gave us options of where to camp. We camped on the hill, overlooking the river and although there were no river views, we had lovely views across the valley. We were close to the road, overlooking the bridge, but even with cane trucks going by every now and then the road noise didn't bother us. There is a pathway and steps down to the river which we were able to carry our kayaks down without a problem. This part of the Mary River is beautiful. There are sections of rapids which are heaps of fun in the kayak. We will definitely be back here to explore the river some more.

Great Spot
Great spot, nice clear green camping area on the river bank near the bridge. Awesome kayaking, we had 35 degrees days in Late August and spent 6 hours paddling up and down the Mary River.
